The best Korean BBQ in MA hands down. Been to many in the Boston area and nothing tops this place. It’s worth the trip everytime as it never disappoints. You know it’s good when you order a lot and there is nothing leftover. Highly recommend if you never tried. Was in the area and it was a no brainer where we were going to get dinner. You can thank me later if you ever went to try it because of this review.

We were at this restaurant last night. My children are half Korean and are very aware how to cook Korean food. We found this place to be the best place in the area. The food was great, including the side dishes my son cooks, one of the dishes that they serve, and he admitted that the restaurants Version was better. The service was great and attentive. Perusing some of your reviews I feel like some have not been fair.

Mom and pop Korean restaurant hide out in the suburb of Boston, Woburn. If not for friends live nearby, I would have continue to miss this gem.

My family had a dinner here yesterday. After the order, when we were waiting for the dishes, my 4-year-old was impatient so he played with the utensils and the plate. He hit the plate with spoon which made some noises. I immediately stopped him and he put them down. Then the waitress came over, she suddenly took the plate away and gave my son a plastic bowl in return. This shocked us! My son saw he was the only one without plate so he cried. When the waitress came back, I asked her to return the plate and let her know what happened. She just said ” the kid will break the plate”, with no apologies or else. SO RUDE and UNRESPECTAFUL. Honestly the food is good but the unbelievably bad service made the dinner tasted so bad. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I will never ever come back again.

It was delicious and a great experience. We enjoyed the food and the service. The waitresses were very kind and attentive. The food was delightful and well cooked. I especially loved all the kimchi and pickled options which helped cleanse our palette and offer a vinegary break in between spicy meats. We will be back!

Lunch Yook Ge Jang (11.99). “Hot & spicy stew with shredded beef and vegetables”. This looks way spicier than it was. There were also glass noodles involved. It was HOT but only pleasantly spicy. Lots of veggies, but only traces of the beef. It was, however, delicious and I really liked it. This was by far the best dish from their lunch menu. I also liked the Kimchi Jige. The banchan was good, but the same on every visit.

I ate at New Jang Su earlier today with my daughter and some friends. The food was wonderful and our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately as we were finishing up our food, the owner came over to us and said that we needed to get up and leave because they needed the table for someone else. We were shocked! And not to mention there were 2 other bbq tables open that the party could have sat at. Such a shame because up until that moment we were all having a great experience.

Food was just normal, not bad, however a bit overpriced for the portion/quality served (given the inflation), but the service, however, was the worst part of the meal. The waitress refused to remove dirty plates, and told my wife “just leave it there”. Half way through the meal, there were many empty/soiled plates, I asked her nicely to remove them, she refused again. I had to tell her that there is no room on the table and they make us uncomfortable enjoying the meal, especially with kids. She then removed a few plates, and disappeared. She later was spotted eating her lunch in the corner (photo).

My husband and I came in between lunch and dinner on a Saturday, and it was completely empty. Servers greeted us warmly and brought over water. There were no typical drinks/alcohol (soju, makkeolli) usually offered at Korean spots and the menu seemed lacking compared to other Korean restaurants we’ve been to. We ordered seafood pancake appetizer and the minimum required 2 entrees to grill, which the servers cooked for us – delicious, albeit portion-wise was small for the prices ($23-26 for grilled meats). The banchan (side dishes) were also tiny in portion, and didn’t look fresh at all (fish cakes were bland). We tried to pack our leftovers and they wouldn’t let us pack the remaining banchan to-go – which I thought was very strange.. curious if they reuse these leftovers for other customers. Would likely not return and just make the trip to Allston.

I’ve been looking for a place like this since the horrible gas explosions that occurred in Merrimac Valley a few years back. It took out my favorite Korean spot in S. Lawerence. I don’t mean that the restaurant exploded they just never reopened after the long shutdown for repairs and they ultimately retired down south.
