Served rotten food! I am not one to leave reviews, but I use them often when in an unfamiliar area. Today while visiting my husband as he works out of town and decided to try this place for lunch. The reviews were pretty good, but our experience was far from what we expected! There were several issues, but I will start with the worst. I ordered the eggplant and crab cake stack since several positive reviews mentioned it. After I’d eaten about half of the dish, I went to take a bite of what I thought was eggplant to be met with the most foul tasting rancid thing I’ve ever had the displeasure of putting in my mouth. I scrape off the sauce and breading to find a ROTTEN fried green tomato. I made my husband smell it and after almost throwing up his lunch, he went to find a manager. The man he talked to didn’t want to come look at the food or smell it himself, but he did offer to take item off if our ticket and offer me something else. I declined since I’d lost my appetite and so did my husband for that matter. Right as I was taking this picture, he quickly came and took the plate and said that he checked in the kitchen and the tomatoes were “sub par”. What gets me about this is that these did not seem pre-made, so someone grabbed a rancid black tomato slice, breaded, fried, and served it! I have felt sick all day and am bracing myself for a lovely bout of food poisoning…but wait, there’s more!

Had an incredible meal here on Monday. The Crab Boil Soup and the Seafood Gumbo were both outstanding appetizers. Then we ordered the thin cut catfish. Heavenly. My wife and enjoyed every last morsel.

We visited with my family (wife and 3 boys, oldest is 7 and youngest is 11 months). Really warm and friendly service. My wife had the Swamp Thing sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she had had in LA. Also, the sweet was excellent she said. I had the Baja burger and it was excellent – especially for the price.

Worst shrimp I have ever had. Super thin batter, no flavor , mushy, and there was feces in half if not more of the shrimp. The wedges however were very good but not nearly good enough to make up for the shrimp.

Had a Caribbean Jack burger. It was excellent and the seasoned fries were as well. The rest of my family had other burgers and we all left happy. The only downside is the prices are a bit high for burgers. ~11 bucks a piece

I have only been to this location once but the food is awesome. I love the tin fried catfish with gumbo and garlic fries. The service isn’t as great as the Elmwood and Metarie locations.

I absolutely loved their thin catfish-as a sandwich or main dish, everyone is always so sweet,,–and they have cook named “chewy” who is tall, darm and so, so damn sexy-im sure he keeps the ladies coming back again!!
