I’ve been to the new york Caribbean restaurant plenty of times and this was by far the worst experience ever. They served me a RAW CORBIN BLEU CHICKEN AS WELL AS MY FATHER. The rice was flavorless and they took FOREVER WITH OUR ORDER. We were informed that the establishment had new owners and a new chef which also happens to be EXTREMELY RUDE and fails to take accountability for his horrible cooking. After noticing my chicken was obviously raw in the inside we asked to speak with the chef and he started bragging about how he’s been a cook for 25 years and studied in spain. Failing to take accountability for what he served us and tried telling me if i would’ve “ordered it a different way” it wouldn’t have come out that way. MIND YOU IM 9 MONTHS PREGNANT and if i would’ve eaten that i would’ve gotten extremely sick or even worse harmed my unborn child. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE IF THEY ARE TRYING TO EAT UNDERCOOKED/GET FOOD POISONING AND OVER PRICED FOOD!

We just moved to the RGV and I am so happy there is a Dominican restaurant here. We went here for lunch and it was very clean, the service was great and the food was delicious! My husband loved the tostones with mayo-ketchu so much he asked to speak to the chef to tell her how great the food was. We had the pollo guisado, tostones, yuca frita, avocado salad and the shrimp. Even our little ones ate all of their food. We’ll definitely be back! You should definitely give this place a try if you want authentic Caribbean food. They will not disappoint!

Please stay away from this place. Every aspect of the service and food is terrible. Food came out cold and tasted old. Meat was not seasoned and was terrible quality. This food is going to get someone sick.

It was a really bad experience. I was super excited about Cuban food In the valley like the reviews said. We waited half an hour and we still did not have a drink in the table. The lady who helped us out wasn’t very nice either. We asked if they had sweet tea available and she said she wasn’t sure and took forever to come back. How do you not know what drinks you have available, and if you don’t does it really take 20 minutes to verify? We were there for a long time and then a family came in and she seemed more concerned about attending that family. How do we not have a drink or our order taken after waiting half an hour? It was also awkwardly quiet. I felt as if I was at a doctors office. It would be nice if they had some music playing in the background. It’s unfortunate because my fiancée and I would have been regulars there, but I’m so discouraged I don’t think I would go back.
