This was our first time at Nic’s. We just moved up to the area and were looking for a great Italian place. We found it! We made a reservation through OT and when we arrived our table was ready. Liz, our server, came over to our table a short while later to take our drink orders. Just before they arrived she took our food order. Everything was fresh, well presented with good portion sizes. A whipped ricotta starter was fantastic as was the perfectly cooked fried calamari. The wood fired pizza, the “Fungi”, was delicious with an assortment of mushrooms. The flavor was great and the crust was nice and crispy. The chicken parmesan was also excellent and a very large portion. We were full and took food home. Liz was amazing; friendly, welcoming and efficient.

Nic’s is a great italian style restaurant in the capital region and definitely worth any bit of travel needed. Their wood fired pizzas are amazing and one of the best I’ve had this side of the Atlantic. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere similar to many small European restaurants.

We had the fungi and honey diavolo pizzas. They were good with nice toppings. The crust was just a little on the dry side but otherwise everything was very good. Nice atmosphere with ample seating. They also have outdoor seating.

Outstanding! Very thin, Neapolitan style pizza. This isn’t your everyday street corner pizza. our pizzas were made with clearly quality ingredients and a delicious pizza dough. The pizzas are about 11 in, which could have been enough for two. we didn’t realize so we ordered one for each of ourselves and we both had about two slices to take home which is about half a pie.

The arancini starter was amazing! You can tell the pasta is made on site, beef was tender and braised to perfection. My girlfriend had the chicken parmesan. I tried a bite and wished I got that too, I would’ve if I wanted to look and feel like a glutton. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were amazing! Definitely coming back to try the pizza!

Just left after spending 20+ minutes sitting outside, not even being asked what we wanted to drink. A couple was seated at a table next to us and the waiter attended to them within 10 minutes, at which point my family left. Really bad first impression and will not recommend to anyone who asks.

Seated, was not asked about drinks, then me and my family were promptly left to wait 15 minutes. Those who were seated 10 minutes after us were then asked about drinks BEFORE us. We left quickly after that. Wasted time.

Great atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent cocktail options and few but good wine choices. On top of the beans and greens we ordered as an appetizer, we also ordered a few pizzas – “the classic” and “broccoli bianca” – and the lamb ragut pasta. The pizzas were delicious, especially “the classic” which upon first bite my mother in law exclaimed it tasted just like she has had many times in Italy. The crust was thin but still chewy and flavorful. The pasta noodles were well made and well cooked, but we didn’t enjoy the sauce. After letting our wait staff know they took that item off the bill, which is a huge plus. We also ordered coffee and a tiramisu to go which were both very pleasant. All in all, it was a nice experience and we will definitely be back for some pizza and cocktails.
