Niemerg’s Steakhouse opened September 1, 1978. We are a locally owned, independent restaurant proud to have served over twenty-four million customers over the last 40 years. A proud tradition we have adhered to over the years has been the preparation of more made – from – scratch food items in grandmother’s style than any other restaurant in the area. We make all of our own salads, many of our salad dressings, daily luncheon and dinner specials, and numerous baked goods which would make any grandmother proud. We are now offering many Heartland Angus Beef cuts. Incredibly tender. Naturally juicy. Abundantly flavorful. I think this place is overrated. The taste of my food did not justify the high ratings: my steak did not taste fresh like it’s promoted, it tasted like it had been refrigerated for some time, and it also lacked seasoning which I fixed a little by adding salt. The broccoli cream also lacked taste plus it was to creamy. The shrimp was actually, overly spicy. Cost around $30: I think this was to pricey for the taste. I only came here cause I read that it was family owned, but I am going to stick to TGI Fridays for now.

My family and I stopped here because the hotel receptionist recommended it. We’re not from around here so we wanted to try something new. The food was great and our server was very kind. I had the firehouse chicken sandwich and it was really good. I also had the carrot cake for dessert. And without a shadow of a doubt it was the best carrot cake I’ve had in my life. 10/10 would definitely recommend! Overall I love this restaurant.

We have LOVED coming here! We came upon it on accident and loved it. Delicious food, amazing dessert and not very expensive. This was our third time (not from around here). We were more than disappointed…and typically we are very easy going. The waitress did not seem very in tune…couldn’t remember whose orders she took. Forgot my husbands drink. I asked for our dessert to go because we were going to continue our travels and it was all brought out on plates and in cups. The waitress had to take them back which took even more time. The food…I don’t even know what to say. My daughters corn was brown. It was disgusting. I don’t like complaining but I don’t know how they served that to anyone. The food was not very hot at all and just lacked so much flavor. We are so saddened by this. We were even raving to our family to stop here…and I don’t know if I can recommend that anymore. As we left, I looked at the reviews and noticed we were not the first to notice these changes. I do hope some improvements will be made. Also, we always noticed how inexpensive and delicious the food was. Now it seems expensive and without flavor or thought or presentation.

We had amazing food. Everyone loved what they ordered, from my full rack of ribs, to the fries, cheese curds, country fried steak, and now. Salad bar was all fresh, and they were frequently changing things out. Our server Reagan was wonderful, kept our drinks full, and was friendly and fun. Great time, thank you!

The French toast was delicious. My wife loves her chicken tenders. Nice quiet place to eat with wonderful people working there. Chloe A was super awesome. Nice and good at her job. If I’m ever in this area again I will definitely eat here. Thank you so much.

Excellent service, waitress ensured our food was hot and checked on us several times to ensure we had everything we needed! Refilled our drinks several times. The salad bar and chicken special were delicious. Their homemade pies are the best! Will come here again.

The food here is good and the portion sIzes are great relative to what you’re paying. I had the Firehouse Chicken Sandwich and thought it was good, though I felt that it could be great with some small improvements like a fancier bun. Wasn’t a fan of the fries.

Pretty bad. Waitress was slow getting to our table despite the restaurant being not at all busy (8 pm). Came by right after food was served and never saw her again. Different waitress swung by later to ask if we wanted the check. We never got the bread. Food came out suspiciously fast. My boyfriend’s ribs were boiled and so dried out he couldn’t eat them (good bbq sauce though). His son’s pasta looked and tasted like it was a couple days old and then microwaved. My boyfriend spoke to the manager about the ribs (but not the pasta) and was comped his meal. The fried chicken was good; salad bar was clean, fresh, and well-stocked; baked potatoes cooked well.
