It reminded me of the mom & pop type restaurants I visited in Japan. From the greeting when you entered, the decor, and the welcoming feeling you get from the staff. The food was really good and they had a decent selection of different Japanese cuisine & libations. Be warned though very pricey for simple & small, but tasty dishes.

Quality of food is excellent.. and then it stops there. These people have no idea of how a restaurant should be ran. Staff is absent, slow, forgetful. Don’t know how to bring appetizers before main meal items. I’ve been 3x and every time has been the same. There’s a sushi bar, which would be great for a solo diner like me, except they won’t let you sit at it, despite there being 5 seats with chopsticks sitting in front of them. Sure, I’d like to take up a 6 person table by myself. Seriously. Get it together, this place could be awesome, but your service SUCKS. Need help? I’ll show how wait staff should act. And no, in case someone thinks it’s just a cultural thing, I lived in Japan and never received this low quality of service.

We arrived at 1130 for lunch and was the first in the restaurant. After ordering we were brought our soup and I had a small salad with my meal. We had a delicious shrimp tempura and my wife’s donburri was very nice. Only complaint was the lunch menu portion size was a little low and probably could have used another side or something. But overall a good place and will be back.

The service was extremely slow. Just 1 kid and 1 chef. Most of the food was good except the dynamite roll. I ordered it last night and split it with my brother. We both ate it and noticed a few of the roll pieces had very tough white fish, like hard rubber. We were super hungry and just ate the entire thing anyway. My sister arrived shortly after us, ordered the dynamite roll and her entire roll had that same chewy rubbery white fish. She took 1 bite and sent it back. Unfortunately for my brother and I, we had nasty food poisoning today. I’ve been in the bathroom a dozen times today. The worst part is that roll is like $25, avoid that fish or the restaurant all together.

The grilled salmon was perfect. Beautifully moist and wonderfully tasty. I couldn’t have been happier with the result of the order. The receipt from Safeway can sometimes have 1 piece of shrimp tempura free with $10 purchase. Free tempura is always appreciated. The staff are all friendly and willing to help asap.

Small, cozy, hole in the wall, but the food is good and beer is cold. Can’t go wrong with Teishoku. Mango cheesecake is delicious, but such a tiny piece. Fried ice cream is smothered in whipped cream. Seem to always order mixed tempura here. Night manager Carlton is a hard worker! This is our go-to Japanese restaurant for sure. Sushi chef is in main section of restaurant.

i had a combo meal of california rolls and grilled salmon ($22). they also serve delicious miso soup, rice and green salad in mayonnaise (too much of the latter to my taste). salmon was nice, grilled with teriyaki sauce, i believe. and you do need a combo, cause just salmon was not enough.

My husband and I were displeased with the meal and service on our visit there on Fathers Day dinner on 17 June 2018. The prices for our meal ( Hamachi Collar and Miso Butterfish) were way to expensive for the quantity served. Our meals did not arrive at the same time and my husbands fish was served cold. We’ve enjoyed eating there before without any issues. Not sure if we’ll return again.

Absolutely disgusting. Spent $30 on a dynamite roll and shrimp tempura roll. Tuna was really fishy and not edible. Whatever meat was inside the roll was soggy, fishy and unidentifiable. I didn’t try the shrimp tempura because the tails were plagued by bacteria from the meat decaying. It should be illegal to serve food like this. It all went in the trash, where it should’ve been to begin with.
