North Country is back! It’s under new ownership, and the menu has changed a bit. They have retained many of the favorites like prime rib, steaks, and whitefish. However, they have made a number of seriously delicious additions.

First time visiting Suttons Bay, came here for dinner and was a little nervous based on the previous reviews, but we had a great dinner! Cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp and grits were outstanding, they even had local cider on tap (Tandem-Strawberry Jam). Cute and comfortable outdoor seating. The only negative I could mention would be that it took as bit longer than we would like to get our entrees, however our server was very attentive and kept updating us. Sometimes real food takes a little longer to prepare, and this was clearly fresh made. Would absolutely return!

Had a little wait so we sat at the bar Shelly the bartender was awesome!! Got to our table where we had a small view of the water and ordered our dinner.. everything was great from fried green tomatoes as an appetizer to the Pork Chop dinner and Jambalaya. Thanks Laurie for the great service and taking such good care of us!! Corn bread was like dessert it was sooo good!!

This new twist on the menu is spectacular. Some of the classic favorites but with a little bit of extra Southern flare added in to some of the dishes. Fried green tomatoes? Yes please. The jambalaya and gumbo and shrimp and grits are amazing. You can tell a lot of care goes into this and that everything is made from scratch and not frozen out of a bag. I think my son wants to live off of the chicken sandwich. If you are in and there is crab bisque available do yourself a favor and take one to go too! Also service is very friendly and attentive.

10/10 service. The waitress that I had was amazing and always came in to check on my satisfaction, she even made a couple good jokes. I also want to compliment the amazing chefs there that night, the food was Master Chef worthy. I ordered the prime rib and it was spectacular, couldn’t get a better prime rib anywhere else.

Our server was very friendly and efficient – certainly not her fault, but the “new” North Country Grill was a major disappointment. Steaks and burgers are no longer prepared on the outside grill. The Crab bisque was barely lukewarm with zero flavor. Entree Salads were unremarkable. Nearby table was complaining that the jambalaya and gumbo were bland. Sad – we used to love having steak, prime rib and whitefish here…The new menu is expensive but the quality is not there. Maybe it will improve.

This is a great spot in Sutton’s Bay for a really good white fish entree. The fish was amazing and our server was very very good. Prices are fair and the quality surpassed the price. After dinner head down the street to Scoops for ice cream!!

I’d go again just for the kindness and presence of the staff, Kelly in particular. Nice mules there, happy I could taste all the ingredients. Good cod plate, tender fish and well seasoned. Get the French fries, they’re fresh and delicious. Skip the green beans, get the slaw. Recommend giving it a go.
