Great spot for families and large parties. Came here on a busy Sunday night over the 4th of July weekend and even amidst all that mayhem we were treated like gold. Some of the best comfort food in the area – highlights this time included the Chicken Fried Chicken, Seafood Pasta, and the Seafood Chowder. Drinks are strong and well priced, staff is friendly and efficient.

Tried this place for lunch takeout. Seems like a “fish and chip” place but I don’t like fish/chips unless you are in a Pub in Great Britain. Wait staff that greeted me was very nice. Soup and salad were the options. Salad was good but they had it packaged like it was being sent across the country. I put it all in a different container and mixed it up. Soup was not so great. I’ll come back and give the rest of the menu a go….

First, let me say that the food and service was excellent. The restaurant, also, has very good menu choices. However, the decor is absolutely the WORST!!! Plastic fitted tablecovers, uncomfortable seating, Heavy, awkward LARGE wood wall plaques. Old dirty looking flooring. Dank atmosphere. The atmosphere overall brought our dining experience down. I definitely will not recommend, nor eat there myself, until they get out of the 70’s, and join the modern , clean looking world. For those who say it is “Up north vibe”… oh lord NO! NOT even “campy cute”.

Nice family restaurant. Very good food, good selection, a little on the expensive side. Wait staff was friendly but a little overwhelmed. Could have used a couple more servers. Over all nice place and would highly recommend.

We rode our bicycles up the NW State Trail from Petoskey. Glad we did! Stopped by the Northwood Family Restaurant for lunch. It was great! Northwood is a hidden gem right off the trail in Oden Mi. Watch for the blue building.

It was late on a Sunday evening and we were on the hunt for a restaurant, well we wondered into Northwood family restaurant and even though it was less than an hour to closing we were promptly seated and served. The fried mushrooms were so delicious I highly recommend them if you like mushrooms. I had the burrito it was also very delicious. Many of my family in the area really like this place and I see why. I recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Our large group loved the variety of choices on the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was outstanding!! Even though we had to wait to be seated it was definitely worth it!

YESS. I really enjoyed my stay please eat here too. I went the 12th of July 2022. Delicious. I had fried mushrooms (Not pictured but amazing because I wanted to eat them) and the spaghetti. Also pictured is the cod fish sandwich and the half rack of ribs.

You can’t go wrong with this restaurant! We have been going for years and have always had an excellent experience. The food is always great and menu has great selection but their fish dishes are the best. Recently had a party of 10 and everyone raved about the food and experience. Courtney was the best. If you are in the area go here !
