A perfect place for an event. We rented out Antoinette’s which is a separate building in the back. It comfortably fit 25 people – having two floors added a nice flow to the meal/activities. It was really nice to have the patio open as well! The food was phenomenal. I really mean it. Everybody was complimenting the space, with one guest noting that it was the “classiest” shower venue she’s been to. Linda, our coordinator, went wayyyy above and beyond to make the event perfect. The bar/wait staff were also super attentive yet easygoing. Can’t wait to come back for a regular date night dinner service!

Nouveau Monde is an awesome bistro with Wonderful food, wine, beverages, and staff. Never disappointed. But, there’s a secret – a speakeasy in the back – across the parking lot. Yes, a speakeasy in Sandy Hook! Hosted by Gary – exceptional mixologist, it is a true hidden refuge. Savory treats come from across the way while you relax in comfy chairs, listen to some great tunes, and maybe enjoy some video. Really an incredible creation in Newtown!

I wanted a bridal shower venue that was elegant with elevated dining. Nouveau Monde has it all! Delicious, refined entree selections. Impeccable, attentive service. Architecturally beautiful decor. When scouting venues, my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at NM. We soon returned with my daughter and future son-in-law to be sure the venue was the right fit. In all, we had 7 different entrees – all culinary treats prepared and presented perfectly with professional, elevated service. I met and continued to work closely with Linda, their director of private events. She’s lovely and so accommodating! She helped me plan a beautiful event for my daughter’s shower. Linda wisely guided my menu and beverage choices. She prepared entree cards (a guest commented on her beautiful handwriting). Linda tastefully added tulle to the bride’s chair and welcome easel. She added votives to each table. Linda helped pace our party perfectly. We had the main room all to ourselves – bar service, wait, and bus staff – all focused on us! They even helped us hide rings for one of the games! The ambience/decor creates an upscale vibe – no need to over decorate. I simply added orchids and a few meaningful, yet understated photo clip stands to tables. One of the guests is a wedding planner and she told me, repeatedly, how perfect everything was – thanks to Linda, the owner, chef, bartender, and wait staff at Nouveau Monde! If you’re looking for a place to hold a special event, stop. It’s Nouveau Monde!

A wonderfully comfy place. The meal was amazing and the drinks were a great pairing for the food. The staff were very knowledgeable and polite. The farm to table style food means they might not always have what you would like such as the steak tips I wanted. However, it did not matter to much as all the food was delicious. The mussels were large and pillowy, the fried chicken was spectacular with good cheesy grits. The salmon was covered in a wonderful citrus glaze that made for a tasty surprise. I will definitely be coming back.

My wife and I tried Nouveau Monde in Newtown (Sandy Hook) for the first time. It’s in what appears to be a very large old house repurposed for a restaurant. We had looked at the menu before we booked, and knew that it would be a tad more (but not a lot more) than our normal restaurant rotation.
