One of the best meals of my life and the best meal I have had in Maine. Everything about this restaurant is perfect. Attentive friendly staff with an owner presence. My food was cooked perfectly and the wine parings were customized and on par. I have nothing negative to say about this place! An absolutely stunning anniversary dinner. This 4 course meal was beautiful and absolutely delicious. The handcrafted drinks were high quality, creative and perfect. The place is small and doesn’t look like much from the street, but inside is a whole different world….warm and inviting. The bartender was gracious and attentive to anything we needed. Well worth saving your pennies for an exquisite fine dining experience in Bangor, Maine that rivals any big city. We will be back. Thank you!

Get a reservation. Prix fixe is an excellent deal. Order cocktails, they are fantastic, including the mocktails. Crazy selection of bourbon and whiskey. Terrific vegetarian and gluten free options. Don’t tell the other places I’ve reviewed, but this was our favorite restaurants in Maine. Pro tip: if you sit at the bar, you can order a la carte (we got the prix fixe anyway).

Bangor has limited fine dining restaurants but Novios is certain a must stop. The restaurant is intimate with nice finishes and a bar. I recommend you start the evening with one of their cocktails including a take on a standard Manhattan. This sets the stage for the multi-course menu.

Wow! 5 star dining right in the heart of downtown Bangor! I don’t know how Novio’s escaped my radar for this long, but now that we’ve discovered this gem, we’ll definitely be back! Everything from the seasonal, locally sourced menu (the chef actually tends a greenhouse and a flock of chickens!), to the decor, to the soundtrack softly piped into the dining room, our dinner at Novio’s was absolutely enjoyable. The cocktails have clever names to accompany the innovative ingredients, and were expertly prepared. They set the stage for our appetizers – fried goat cheese and tuna bruschetta – which were both amazingly delicious. For dinner I chose the duck gnocchi and my husband had the sea bass. Both portions were very generous, and everything was cooked to perfection. Obviously, we couldn’t pass up dessert. The pastry chef outdid himself with the lemon macarons with Maine blueberries and chocolate mousse. The after dinner cocktail with a coffee ice cube was just the proverbial icing on the cake. What a perfect evening. I need to go back to try the pumpkin tortellini and risotto with lobster. But it will have to be soon, as the owner told us the menu changes frequently. The choices weren’t vast, but everything sounded delicious and everything we ordered was 100% on point. I absolutely recommend visiting Novio’s for that next special occasion …or just because. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
