A nice alternative option for authentic German food in Long Island. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood with plenty of parking available. Lovely atmosphere in a rustic oak chalet building, hence the name. There’s also outdoor/beer garden like seating Food was delicious and great service. Includes typical German fare such as a variety of wurst, schnitzel and Sauerbraten. The Bavarian pretzel was huge and hot out of the oven.

Excellent German food with additional non German food choices. We had the goulash soup, Bavarian pretzel which was fresh and hot, jagerschnitzel and weinerschnitzel. Everything was well prepared and very tasty. The portions were generous.

Great food and service! The no-bs down-to-earth menu and authentic experience here is perfect. I have great memories here from when I was a kid, and to come in again and have the excellent food was a treat. The crispy potato pancakes, great meatloaf & jaegerschnitzel were well worth the trip. Staff are super polite and attentive, and the decor contributes to the genuine German ambiance. I’d come back here any day, highly recommended!

If you’re in the mood for good traditional German food paired with good beer, then definitely make a reservation at this restaurant. Because here it comes with friends-and-family-level service. During the summer they offer indoor and outdoor seating, large parking lot. Also, their desserts and coffee are pretty decent too. Overall, a perfect place for a family dinner.

I forgot the photos. It was pleasant and delicious, from appetizer to entree. The Bavarian pretzel was hot, huge, and delicious, came with 3 dipping mustards. My salad was filling and our entrees were delicious. Highly recommend, will be going back

Great place for German dishes and German atmosphere. The service was prompt and helpful. We found our meals less heavy than other German restaurants we’ve tried and we really enjoyed it. Prices are a little above moderate but well worth it. The ambiance at Christmas was wonderful, but it’s nicely decorated year round. Good for both couples and larger groups.

Great experience in native German restaurant! Delicious beer, great choice of meals! Barcode menu ! Potato pancakes were unbelievable! Service was great . By being there and enjoying traditional schnitzels I felt I was in Germany ! It so amazing to live in New York and travel restaurant to restaurant like traveling the world!
