This was my first time ever at the Morgan Street Food Hall, and baby I am HOOKED on Oak City Fish and Chips. First and foremost it’s a black owned business whose staff is extremely warm and welcoming. Secondly, the prices are extremely reasonable and the fish portions (which is whiting..my favorite) are HUGE. Lastly, the seasoning is unlike any other. I ordered the fish basket (which comes w/fries) and a side order of brown sugar hush puppies and by the end of my meal I was literally licking all 5 of my fingers. Whatever seasoning is being used is definitely custom made because the FOOD WAS FULL OF FLAVOR‼️ I definitely recommend this place and give it a 15 out of 10.

The BEST calamari I’ve ever eaten. The breading is so well seasoned and delicious. the hot sauce is really good mixed with the cocktail sauce. And the staff are friendly and helpful. Wish I could tip them honestly!

Went to the Morgan Street Food Hall location. Three stars because the cashier was looking down typing in his phone the entire time he was taking our order. He had to tell us he was ready to take our order because whatever he was typing in his phone was more important than the few minutes it took to properly take our order. The shrimp had a salty after taste to me, the fried oysters and fries were extremely good. I’ll go back, but it just really bothered me with how nonchalant the cashier was while he was looking down in his phone & taking our order.

My first time going here. Let me tell you something! It looked good and smelled good. I couldn’t wait to get home and eat. On another note…Steve is a fool lol he had me laughing the whole time and Nae(hope I spelled it right) was doing her thing. I’ll definitely be going back again. Any place that makes me feel at home is a place I need to be eating at. Excellent customer service and the vibe is amazing. Food is delicious!!!

I was at Black August in the Park yesterday. 3 men in the food truck around 6:45pm the cashier was rude-he took my card (I’ve never experienced so much irritation)pushed all the prompts for me on the machine and charged me $16.24 for a 14$ small shrimp basket with 5 over cooked shrimp and heavily over seasoned fries. The guy passing food (I’ve never experienced so much irritation) didn’t give you napkins or condiments for my $16.24 small shrimp basket unless you asked for him.I was told this was the best food truck option however after waiting in line for 35 mins the event was only open for 2hours and 45 mins at that point-and being over charged and over cooked made me feel the need to just say- my experience was NOT good. I will bot be eating at this food truck again.

So very worth the wait! They were the busiest spot in the hall, but Kevin and the crew were on point with their customer service and the food was fantastic!! !Don’t sleep on this spot, and don’t waste your time at any other stand, you won’t get fried fish like this unless your grandma is making it for you.
