Oakland house of pizza was very good when I tried it a few years ago, but when I went back, I’ve never had an experience so terrible. I started by placing my order through their website, and it told me it was going to be a 25 – to 35-minute wait. I placed the order at 5:32, so I arrived at about 6:04 to grab my order. When I got to the counter, the person who was assisting me was very rude and on her phone. She then told me that they hadn’t even started my order yet, and it was going to be about 45 minutes before they would have it ready. I was in a rush, so I politely asked for a refund, and she told me, “Well, sir, you have arrived before the window of when we told you it was going to be done, so no”. I became upset and said, “Are you going to have it ready in three minutes?” She said nope and began to walk away. Then another woman came up and didn’t say a word to me and issued a refund back to me card. She then handed me a receipt and told me it would be back on my card in about 3 days. To this day, I haven’t received a refund, and it’s been about 2 weeks.

Wasn’t a huge fan. As someone who’s work in a restaurant for multiple summers I will say there seemed to be little organization, poor communication, and was charge for 2 large pizzas which I saw was two mediums. When asking for large pizzas I noticed larger boxes in the back. I understand the price of food but that was a bit ridiculous. Wasn’t a fan. Was told it was only gonna be 30 minutes it turned out to be 1 hour an 15 minute wait. Not impressed

For starters the woman who took my order couldn’t understand me because she stood so far away because of these covid barriers that are still up. Extremely loud in there. Also the doors are left open there are flies flying around and it’s extremely hot. I ordered an appetizer she never heard me order it. She brought out my burger which was absolutely disgusting and very tough. When I asked for my appetizer was you didn’t order one she says I’m like no you just didn’t hear me apparently. Won’t be back. The burger was like a piece of it was so hard and chewy because it’s not fresh Burger.

Four of us were in the area and went here purely based on 2 things: One, they sell pizza. Two, it had a higher rating than the other place with pizza. What we got was way more than just pizza. I always forget to get names but I wish I had. As soon as we entered this establishment we were greeted with a warm “hello”, followed by a polite, “let me know if you have any questions”. After looking over the menu we all order. A reasonable time later we get our pizzas. Our delicious, fresh, well proportioned ingredient and tasty pizzas. I love that the lady who took our orders checked on us during our meal even though this is NOT a full service restaurant. To have never stepped foot in this business before and be treated like I was a regular was awesome! I will be happy to visit again and seriously appreciate their great hospitality!

Favorite place to grab a quick hot or cold meal to go. Hard working folks that know how to make great food. I sit back sometimes while I’m waiting for my Pepperoni Pizza (no one else compares by the way) and watch the team work their butts off to make customers happy. Sometimes I go for the Genoa Salami Italian. The food and the restaurant never dissapoint. Definitely an asset to the town of Oakland.
