The coziest comfiest tastiest cup of Virginia peanut soup ever. We also came for lunch this was phenomenal they blew a Reuben right out of the park my I’m not usually a coffee man but I had a long drive ahead of me and it was the last night this week I get to see with my hopefully wife-to-be. Couldn’t have been better.

The place was about half full on a Sunday when we went. I ordered chicken tenders.. and received what appeared to be McDonalds chicken nuggets for probably 3 times the price. Our server was nice but not very attentive. We weren’t given any utensils. It wasn’t awful but I would not recommend this place.

It’s an ok place. It kind of feels like they’re trying to be an upscale restaurant, but they fall short. The decor is very outdated and the flooring feels like a cheap cafeteria, at least the part that is covered. Part of the flooring is cheap linoleum square tiles and the other part is just bare sub-flooring.

I have been a regular customer here every few months for years. Today’s meal was different. Abnormally long wait compared to the past. Instant mashed potatoes instead of the usual “real ones.” Crab cake was scorched. All wait staff were brand new. Where is the usual staff?

LOVE the brunch!!!! Everything is always perfectly seasoned and flavorful, the best biscuits and gravy! The place isn’t much to look at, and could be cleaner, but the food is on POINT every Sunday morning! My boyfriend and our friends all come here often.

Mothers Day brunch was horrible! I would not reccomend this place to anyone. I realize the area is historic and the building is old, however the interior also appears as if it has not been painted or cleaned since the 1800’s. The furniture is falling apart and the ceiling looked like it was about to cave in. Also, they clearly do not follow any type of food service guidelines, cross contamination (wiped plate with towel used for wiping who knows what) one utensil for all the different omelet prep items, food in chaffing dishes were under cooked (bacon, sausage and ham) without proper sterno heat. Stale biscuits and cold items like shrimp cocktail and fresh fruit did not sit on ice. Everything was pretty much room temperature if not cold due to the front door being left open…….which is where the buffet was set up. Again, I would not recommend this place to anyone; especially not for almost $22 + per person! If I could give less than a star I would, I think I could’ve had a better Mothers day experience at Taco Bell! JS

Gary and his staff really took good care of our party of 46. They treated us like family when we had our Wedding Rehearsal dinner enjoying Chesapeake Crab Cakes, Filet Mignon, Roasted Duckling and Chicken Marsala along with a first class open bar. Everything went like clockwork and the table set-ups were excellent. The food was first class all the way to the delicious Apple Cobbler.

We had Sunday Brunch here recently and enjoyed it. The place looks like an old house that was converted into a restaurant so it is not as open as many restaurants. It has more of a feel like when you are at a friend’s house for a large party and find yourself sitting wherever there is a space. It was freezing when we visited s the deck view was not looked into.

We ate here on a cold, rainy Saturday night. My husband’s Pasta Primavera was to die for. My Shrimp Scampi and Wild Rice was delicious. Wine was in larger glasses than you usually are served, at least 8 Oz. Courtney did an excellent job of serving us. Quick, efficient and friendly!

We arrived right on time for our reservation, we entered and tried to find where the host would be, some guy making the omelets asked if we were lost – we said, no we’re trying to be seated, he said he would send the host out – so we went back outside in the heat and waited 10 minutes until another guy came to get something, he asked if we had a reservation, yes – then said he would get his “friend” and he would know what to do. The “friend” comes out and asks if we had a reservation, yes – he tells us to wait and goes back inside. We were seated with no menus or anything, we finally give our drink orders and we were told we could eat at the buffet, which was pretty much empty and they ended up running out of plates. It was hard to tell what things were, nothing was labeled. It’s in an adorable town, but other than that, I didn’t care for it much. Though, the mimosas were pretty good!
