We were here to do some remote work. Has an indoor / outdoor seating with shade. Staff was good, the place was clean, and so was the food. Chill environment whether you wanna work or just hangout for the afternoon.

Seriously the best food in Rockford. It’s hard to make an impression on me and this is seriously one of the best restaurants around, definitely a hidden gem. The atmosphere is incredible, the bartender is extremely welcoming, and the food is INCREDIBLE. 10/10 definitely coming back, and highly recommend this to anybody looking for a good bite in Rockford.

Small downtown staple restaurant. The menu has a lot of Asian inspired food items. The spicy pork bowl is out of control! They have a smaller curated cocktail menu and beer list. They mostly focus on craft beer. The cocktails are elegant, balanced and tasty. They use local Rockford Roasting co. Espresso for their espresso martini which makes the drink extra amazing. I love going here and love the staff!

Great downtown restaurant with free parking and close to entertainment venues. They have a unique menu that has some seasonal specials and everything is so tasty! The seared tuna bao, the burgers & the flank steak are incredible! An awesome stop for drinks, a snack or a nicedinner. A little on the pricier side but worth it for a nice dinner.

Historically we have loved Octane with our whole family. We have been going here since it opened with our younger children. We have three boys, two of which are teenagers now, and our three year old. We visited today with our 3 year old, and we were quite disappointed that there were no menu options for kids. We then inquired with our waitress about this and we were told that the chef could make a smaller portion of mac and cheese, chicken tenders (chicken from the bao sandwich), or a smaller kids burger. We chose the burger. When it came, we laughed because of its size. We thought nothing of it, as we have ordered kids things before that were more of adult size portion. Upon receiving the bill however, we were disappointed to find that we were charged for a full size burger that was more expensive than many of the adult options on the menu. With regret, we choose to no longer frequent Octane, as it appears they have chosen a less family friendly experience. The atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, but if we can’t bring our child with us, then we will not be able to come back.

Here, let me hand you this dirty rumpled paper menu and then I am going to serve you the drink you didn’t order 20 minutes after you sat down with my finger in it from across the table so you have to reach for it. Oh, and I am probably sweating on your drinks because it is absurdly hot in here. Here is also a hard water stained glass for your beer. Yes, I know you had to ask for it after I brought you a lukewarm can.

Octane RKFD is at a great location near the river in the Main Street District of downtown Rockford. Free street parking and a parking lot across the street. Located in a chic-industrial building with a large and stylish bar inside. The menu is Asian inspired including some unique fusion style boa buns, lumpia rolls, mazemen (broth-less Ramen) and traditional Ramen on Thursdays. Their cocktails are also delicious and we want to go back to try the rest! Wine list and beer list as well. Looking forward to coming back.
