$7.50 for a scrapple, egg & cheese sandwich with home fries. Not the best made sandwich but I felt like I was thrown back in time. I swear I saw my mom’s old maroon station wagon. Very good stop. The hostess was great.

Odessa was on our way south so we decided to stop. It was your typical, no frills diner with solid service and good food. It doesn’t look much from the outside but it was well-worth a pit stop for a hot plate.

Quick stop for breakfast on our way down Route 1 in Delaware. Not far off main route—easy to locate and ample parking lot. It was a Sat around 10:00 am; diner was busy but we were seated quickly. Service was prompt and courteous; food was delicious—typical diner breakfast options. We both had 2 eggs, hash browns, 2 pancakes—I like over easy and my husband gets over hard—both were cooked as requested. He had crisp bacon and I had sausage links. Coffee was better than diner coffee.

We tried the diner for the first time tonight and it was excellent! Food was hot and very tasty. Server was nice and meal was delivered quickly. Portions were large and prices and very fair. We had the baked ziti, which was the special, the open faced hot roast beef, and a kids spaghetti and meatball dinner. The chicken noodle soup was also very good! We have been looking for a great diner in the local area and have been disappointed until now! We will be back!

The staff were super friendly when we walked in. Very small town older crowd laid back kind of vibe. The food was good and they have 2 menus. One breakfast and one dinner. This trip we did dinner. They have a kids menu with 4 options. Large portions for kids. It was super busy tonight so everything was a little backed up. The staff were very apologetic but we understood as they only just opened a few weeks ago. The chicken Parm was good and large so extras for tomorrows lunch!! It came with a salad and garlic bread. This place use to be the hearth and is run by new owners who took over but kept the classic wrap around diner bar!! They also offer take out. They have plenty of take home menus as well just ask. Overall nice place to get quiet meal at a reasonable price and relax. Check them out as there right outside of historic Odessa on 13

Moved to Townsend in 2018 from Bear and really liked going to the Hearth and just just like that it closed without any warning. I was so glad to see that someone stepped in to open back up and this time as the Odessa Diner. Being originally from New Jersey, diners are special to us and especially family owned and operated diners. The family that manages this establishment are very kind and welcoming. I was blessed to be one of their first customers when they opened back up and it has been nice to see the parking lot always full for them! They are doing it right! The food is great and well priced. The hospitality is very good. It warms my heart to see our community supporting local businesses.

This is a wonderful, small traditional diner that serves a large variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. The food is generally very good and it comes out fast and hot. Try the specials. Always excellent. Service varies depending on your server, but overall also very good. Everybody is friendly and helpful. The seating area is not huge, so at peak times, it can be full. Overall, this place is the perfect stop for some real food served fast with a smile.

I’ll be honest. I only stopped in on my way traveling through. Had a hamburger. Great bun. Hamburger was about what you would expect at a diner. Good fries. Basic diner menu. Not extensive by any means. Service was great and delivered with a smile. Seemed to be a good crowd so maybe other menu items are favored here. Not a bad place to stop if you’re on your way through.
