Had an amazing time with my friends for lunch at Oishi, Newtown. I loved their Vegetarian Sushi with Cucumber and Avocado ; the salad with their amazing ginger dressing & Pad Thai (vegetarian option). My friends loved the chicken Sate and a chicken hot plate dish. (Forgot the name). The waitress was really friendly and explained things very clearly too.

The food was very good. The Tuna Tataki and Tuna Sashimi rolls were excellent. The rolls had a nice amount of caviar. Chicken Satay was very tender and the peanut dipping sauce was so good. Chicken Yakatori was also tender.

Called ahead and made a reservation for 6:30 for my wife and i, we arrived on time and were seated at a table, we sat there for 25 minutes and no one even came over to our table so we walked out after wasting almost a half hour. The place was also dirty, there’s cobwebs in the ceiling corner of the walls, and the place is dirty and has flies. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Newtown as we live 5 minutes away, what a shame, the hostess even was clueless and thanked us for coming in as we walked out, she had no clue no one even served us or anything. The sushi was very good and the presentation was nice. The place is clean and in a nice location. No saki or alcohol at all, just BYOB, which I find weird coming from Florida. Service was very slow. They did warn about that with a sign on the door, but the issue wasn’t with getting the food, it was taking out order and waiting for the check.

Amazing! The food and service were great! I ordered the spicy crunchy tuna roll and California roll — the California roll to balance out the spice — as well as the chicken yakisoba. They were both immaculate, as well as the soba! Would definitely go again! If you need more water, just ask a waiter who’s passing by. It doesn’t have to be yours. The staff was very friendly and my baby brother who I brought with me made sushi behind the bar! What a surprise! I’m really happy with this experience.
