Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Oxford. Great prices for food and drinks, and chips and salsa are included. Big menu with lots of options. Now, as someone from New Mexico and who has a Mexican mom, I am particular about my Mexican food. So much so that I usually don’t go out for it in most parts of the country, and keep a stash of hot New Mexico chile (both red and green) in a freezer at home. Ok Maguey had authentic and tasty beans and rice. They do it right! The fajitas and chimichanga I had were also good. I didn’t try the enchiladas/rellenos yet…they are typically something I make at home instead (again, I have particular chile preferences.) My only complaint is that I am accustomed to hotter salsa and wish they had more hot chile and salsa options. Regardless, this’ll be my go-to for Mexican, margaritas, or beer pitchers when in Oxford.
