The dinner was nice, food was decent. Waiter definitely experienced and knowledgeable. Feel pretty much rushed to finished the meal and can’t really enjoy the time. Feel the table turning rate is on a dashboard somewhere.

This is truly a beautiful restaurant. Old Hickory is right inside the Gaylord hotel on the 1st floor near check-in. Parking can be tricky since garage parking brings you in on the 2nd floor near the conference rooms. They just recently started serving bunch which is offered from 11:30 to 3pm (even though the website has not been updated). It is a “fixed” ish menu. For $65 you start with a family style board, that has pastries, fruit, a selection of cheeses, and carb salad along with oysters. You then pick your choice of a brunch entree before finishing with a selection of desserts. The bottomless mimosas is an additional $30. Overall the dining experience was okay. The two family style portions of the meal were excellent but the entrees themselves were lackluster nothing was seasoned very well and the pancakes were bland and tasted like box mix. Overall it was more hits than misses! That reason alone makes it worth grabbing your family and friends and heading to the Gaylord for a fun weekend brunch.

I was in the area visiting and decided to try this restaurant. First impressions were very impressive. The design and decor is very swanky and has a retro design. There is ample seating, bar and lounge areas to accommodate nearly anyone’s wants while also quite comfortable. They have a nicely stocked bar of course with top shelf liquors. As part of my meal, I was offered bread and butter. The bread is somewhat orange so I asked about the ingredients which include sun dried tomatoes. The honey in the honey butter is sourced from their own beehive on the roof of the restaurant, very interesting. Both the bread and butter is very good and worth trying. Due to pricing, I ordered a smaller filet mignon but it was very tender, like warm butter and flavorful. I sat in the bar area and service was great. There were multiple wait staff making sure customers were happy. Certainly worth a visit if you’re looking for a different place and want to splurge for a special occasion!

Brunch here is more of an experience instead of your typical brunch. For $65PP you get the appetizer sampler, choose a main dish, then a dessert sampler. Enclosed is a copy of the brunch menu

Their Sunday brunch is fabulous!!! Their menu isn’t anywhere, nor their hours since they recently opened. Their Sunday brunch starts at 11:30. Other breakfast ends at 10ish. But the appetizer board and deserts is not optional, meaning it comes with the brunch you just pick the main course. The appetizer board is enough for the entire party and includes: pastries, fruits, pudding, crab salad sandwich, oysters, cheeses and dipping sauces/jams. You pick your main course from steak, salmon, burger, etc. The pancake board is additional cost. Deserts are 4 different cakes/chocolate delicacies. Like I said it’s enough for each guest to have one of each pastry. Pics of appetizers and desserts.

The food was amazing. My wife and I absolutely loved it! The absolute star of the show was our wait staff, Happy from Nigeria. That guy is exceptional. I felt like we made a lifelong friend in an hour. He really made us feel special! We spoke to the manager, he also seemed like a really great guy. During our very brief wait (we were early, no problem) and even after we finished we enjoyed some of the common areas which looked great after the remodel. Our only small complaint was that we were seated really close to another couple. They were super friendly but it was still loud, and our convo I’m sure was loud for them as well. I had asked for the romantic riverside seating, which you charge extra for, understandable. The problem was it was packaged with a wine and a dessert that would not have been our choices, we’re pretty picky about that stuff. Maybe you could offer another package with just the romantic view? Would have taken that in a heartbeat. Or maybe sell the same package but let the diners choose the desert and wine? Anyway, we’ve worked it into our rotation and we will definitely be coming back twice a year or so. Thank you for such a good time! (The photos are of the smoked shrimp cocktail, super delish!)

Joseph was very accommodating and sincere in making our experience exceptional. I requested a Bourbon Smash that isn’t a common request. I went back to my table and order another dinner drink. Joseph went above and beyond to create my specialty request and surprised me by delivering the cocktail to my table. It most exquisite and delightful added touch a wonderful dinning experience.”

Best steak I’ve ever had in my life. Once you go waygu it’s hard to go back to regular steak. I’ve had three steaks since I left this place and I can’t stop thinking about the waygu. The oysters are very good and clean tasting. I really enjoyed my couple visits to this restaurant during my stay at the Gaylord.

Had a group dinner after attending a conference. Monica helped me to make a group reservation with her unique pleasant and courteous manner. We ordered NY stripe, duck, salmon, ribeye, fresh oyster on a half shell and Tomahawk steak. And, all foods were amazingly cooked and served. Our server, Andrew was amazingly attentive and professional. But, it seems something not quite working well with bar orders, which brought down overall rating from 5 to 4 stars. Over vibe and atmosphere were absolutely exquisite!
