Decent BBQ although brisket was a little dry. Reasonable prices, but they went up in the past few months by about $1 for dinners. Large servings. Comparing to Spring Creek down Hwy 6, they are $2 cheaper for a brisket plate. And you don’t have to pay extra to choose onion rings, fries or okra as a side here. But they don’t come around offering fresh baked bread like SC. And SC has a lunch special that makes a brisket plate about the same price as here. I think the brisket and sausage is just a little more tasty at SC, but both are really good. Worth a try for sure!

Good trash! Ribs & chicken over cooked.. Mac and cheese horrible… idk if we came at lunch when it was busy but no stay away! My daughter said she thought it was a prank when we opened the plates!

Not my first time to order from Old Hickory Inn in Missouri City. I called the day prior and asked for 5 lbs. of lean brisket for pickup at 5pm the next day. When I arrived, they had a little rush going on but were courteous and said they would have my order shortly. My order was packed in a foil tray & included a large container of their BBQ sauce. When I got home & opened the tray, the sliced brisket was something to behold. Lean, lovely smoke ring on the edge of the slice, moist and arranged for serving. My guests were equally impressed with the smoky flavor of the beef & the sauce.

If you are on a budget like most people, this place would not be for you. I do not mind treating myself on rare occasions but if I do I would like something better than just average. Not exactly gourmet for these prices and since I was the only one there when I went…I doubt if my opinion is way off.

I only ever get my baked potatoes from Papas for a hefty $15 but I got mine here for the first time being the same size, loaded chopped beef and I can truly say this was an amazing and tasty baked potato. I love how they put the cheese under the chopped beef, melting the cheese. It’s the little things that count. The potato was a great golden brown with no burnt sides. GREAT. This amazing potato and a soda for 12.99? LOVE IT HERE.

Very clean restaurant and clean bathrooms. Staff was friendly and attentive. Prices are good- slightly less than other BBQ places. Brisket was good. Sides were awful. Coleslaw tasted like it was soaked and marinated in vinegar. It was an overpowering taste. Nothing cheesy about the Mac and cheese. The toddler loves it, but it was very liquified and creamy and didn’t taste any cheese. Reminded me of a creamy noodle soup. It congealed a bit after sitting but did not taste good at all. Took a bite of my girlfriend’s Texas size potato and it was good. The chicken got thrown away, it was full of red bloody looking spots as if the chicken was never trimmed or cleaned. The BBQ sauce tasted like tomato sauce with chili powder and didn’t resemble BBQ sauce in my opinion. Food was just ok overall. If I go back, it would be for the brisket only and no sides. Worth a try at least once to see if it’s your thing. Definitely not for me.

I like the food but today was a really bad experience. Tried to order a three meat I wanted double brisket and I told the guy I would pay the extra for the brisket and said I can’t do that… so I was denied what I wanted… don’t think I’ll be going here for a while

Old Hickory is the most family friendly BBQ restaurant in the community. They have excellent food with customer service. Their menu covers the spectrum with items and they also offer to smoke your own personal USDA approved meats. I have been coming here since 2009 and they always deliver.
