Old Port Lobster Shack Menu – Redwood City, CA

Type : Seafood restaurant

Location : Redwood City, CA

East Coast Seafood and Downeast BBQ.

Shack lobster roll is a heavily fresh-lobster-laden salad on a deliciously toasted roll specially made for the restaurant. The sandwiches come with mayo but may be ordered naked, with drawn butter and lemon wedges on the side.

Besides Lobster, the Shack provides an assortment of other wonderfully fresh seafood, such as crab, tuna, fish, shrimp. Bacon and sour cream cheesy fries, cole slaw, clam chowder and lobster bisque also round out the menu. But, here Lobster is king.

East Coast–style seafood complemented by an easygoing wharfside vibe, plus beer & wine. Based on 94 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.8 stars. Price $$

This Place had Very Good Food. I was able to take my sister for a treat to celebrate her birthday a few years back. Instead of Lobster Rolls we chose crab and it was delicious. My beautician would always mention Lobster Shack but, It was a little tucked away so I had to Google our way there. My beautician used to do my hair in a salon & her business name was “Who Does Your Hair?” in Redwood City for many many many years. Unfortunately, the spot is currently closed. I would have loved to go back for more. It’s a little pricey when you get a few things and it adds up quick but, unlike certain places it is well worth it. Yummy delicious food & Great Service I hope they re-open or relocate.

It was okay. Lobster in lobster roll was not very flavorful. Bread and fries were good. Bisque and Caesar salad were decent. Fish and chips was pretty good as well. Overall though, nothing felt worth the price. Service was also odd but I chalk that up to them just opening.

I came in around 8 so I was basically the only diner by then. The interior is pretty cozy. They should play some music. The water they served tasted… a bit odd. The fish and chips I ordered also didn’t leave me super impressed. I like the fries, but the coresalaw tasted a bit funny. The fish themselves are not too bad, though the fish meat is basically melting and had no texture to speak off, I could barely eat that with a fork so in the end I just used my hands. Overall, not impressed for my first visit. I am concerned if they don’t get their acts together.

Each time we come here, they seem to put less and less lobster meat in the rolls. Paying $37 for one roll with such little meat isn’t worth it.

The fries were great, the lobster was alright we thought, the lobster was a bit cold. A little overpriced.

Worst place ever and racist too! I would love how you are going to explain the reason for accusing someone of stealing something just because he doesn’t understand English… Disgusting!!!!!! My Dad doesn’t deserve this humiliation…

Not as good as the older locations. Nothing special about the food. Can’t even count it as a relatively pricy treat. Server was nice enough but dress was too casual. Think too tight biker shorts worn around the house with open toe fuzzy leopard print slippers. Not too sure about the combined business of Indian Pizza and a Lobster Shack. Don’t want to sound like that person, but I don’t want the smell of relatively overpowering Indian spices when I’m in the mood for Lobster rolls. Maybe the Indian Pizza is good. Kind of bummed, because we got our kids excited about the food from here only to see them disappointed. Lastly, not sure why but there were a decent amount of ants crawling around the place. We moved from our initial table but it wasn’t enough to escape them.

NOT AS GOOD AS WOODSIDE RD LOCATION – Lobster Bisque was definitely a step down. Fish and chips also mediocre. Go back to counter service.

A cozy place for lunch and gathering; right next to Redwood City Caltrain station. Interesting drink menu!
