Old Princeton Landing Public House and Grill Menu – Half Moon Bay, CA

Type : American restaurant

Location : Half Moon Bay, CA

Re-opened in the fall of 2010 by brothers Brian and Peter Overfelt, Old Princeton Landing welcomes locals and visitors alike. With the recent merging of the adjoining restaurant to the bar, we’ve named the entire facility Old Princeton Landing Public House and Grill.

Peter and Brian Overfelt were raised on the Coast and grew up surfing California before they ventured all over the world. The food they ate while on surf trips in places like Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, Central America, Morocco, and Mexico left a lasting impression and has inspired much of what’s served at OPL today.

Live music & sports on TV add to the casual vibe at this hangout with beers, wine & well drinks. Based on 699 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $$

It’s our second visit to Old Princeton Landing. What a great little live music venue! I love the addition of the bar on the back patio. It makes grabbing another beer/cocktail while out back enjoying the show much easier. The staff were friendly and the grounds are kept clean. Were looking forward to our next vosit!

We got fries with gravy and the Hawaiian bucket with pork and it was sooo delicious! The food was made so quickly and was warm and exactly what we needed in the moment 🙂 the fries don’t normally come with gravy but we asked to add it on top and they were totally okay with that! I recommend doing that. I could eat here every day 🙂

NorCal salad with blackened fish, a winner. The soda machine was out of service. You order at the counter, and it’s not an atmospheric dining experience. But delicious.

This place is great! I brought my dog and sat in the back patio with a tasty sour ale and smacked some really good fish n chips. Seems like a lot of locals come here You order food at a separate section from the bar but they give you a handy buzzer. This was the perfect stop after a day at the beach.

Cashier was really nice and friendly. We got the loco moco, fish and chips and the poki appetizer. The fish and chips were good however the batter for the fish was a little bit soggy. The chips were great and well seasoned. Loco moco was a little bland. The poki was fresh however was a little too salty for my taste. Overall the food we got was below average , but still giving them a five star because taste is subjective some food might be salty for me and might not be salty for other people, and some food might be bland for me and can be flavorful for others.

The old princeton public house is the perfect spot to grab lunch after a morning on the beach. This cozy watering hole offers classic cocktails as well as some fun creations. Food is available from the attached restaurant with many delicious options.

Good food. The poke bowl, in particular, was a notch above what you’d usually find at a bar. The ordering process felt haphazard, without enough menus for everyone in the line–I guess they’re not usually so busy. Sports on TV is not my favorite, but the surfboards on the ceiling were definitely cool.

Counter order place. The person taking our order was very helpful. I had the pork bánh mì, which was pulled pork on a baguette rather than the typical thin sliced pork. It was good, but not what I expected. I suppose this is more Hawaiian style.

Service inside the bar was kinda slow, considering it wasnt busy. Service in the restaurant was good. My hubs enjoyed his burger. Our friend and I both had the fish and chips. For $20 a plate, I expected better, there was more batter than fish.

I came here on a whim because I was hungry on my drive up north to a meeting in San Francisco and needed a dog friendly venue, which this place is. What a pleasant surprise! The manager was super personable and knew the menu in great detail. My partner and I had fish tacos and the Thai Curry, both of which were delectable, with the curry being our favorite. The atmosphere is inviting to families and has a cool surfer/fishing theme to it. The back area outside is particularly nice with plenty of seating, a nice overhang for shade, and CORNHOLE! I enjoyed the food and time there so much so that on the drive back down the coast I stopped back in for dinner and a beverage.
