This is a great little locally owned cafe with down home cooking. They have a regular menu and daily specials which usually sell out, especially Thursday which is fried chicken. I’ll take mom and pop restaurants like this any day over a chain. You will get a great meal and Michael will even fill you in on the town’s history or information about Fall Creek Falls State Park. You might even get to meet Miss Van Buren County.

Traveling north on Hwy 111. Found the restaurant. Stopped and it was great. CASH only, no problem. Had front toast and sausage. Mom had the plate lunch, turnip greens, mashed potatoes, corn bread, white beans and pork chop. Mom said it was great, much better than the restaurants at home she goes to.

The proprietor was nice to me even though I’m a dam@ Yankee. Fast service, reasonable prices, good food. Jest be smart and leave yer Yankee politics back home where the houses are four feet apart so the cold wind can keep your house from getting warm. Buy land here in Van Buren County and drive the locals crazy with yer Clinton and Biden bumper stickers! These folks will still treat you to some of their good cookin despite yer heritage and politics. Be careful, though. They’ll try to brainwash you into voting for Trump!
