Me
Olde Dixie is now food trucking it and is usually parked on the corner of Oak Ridge Rd and Orange Ave. In the VFW Posts lot right behind the matress store. Same great chicken and fries. We’ve stopped there several times and there’s usually a line, but not along wait. Glad their still around.

I absolutely loved this place. It was right around the corner, and had THE best fried chicken, Apple pies, fries, mashed potatoes, and tea, that you have ever dreamed of. My dad took me here when I was little and went there when he was little as well. I really wish this place hadn’t closed. Every weekend my dad and I could look outside and instantly think that it was fried chicken night. Not to mention, the service was just brilliant, and scenery was amazing and really historic in a generous way. Anyone who ever went here could easily have had the best food they’ve ever tasted. When we went there in closing night, we simply said goodbye to the perfect dinner place. Hopefully the food truck is as good as the first little place that served the magnificent food.

The best fried chicken I ever had. I have been going here since I was a small kid. Don’t let the confederate flag mislead you. The service is friendly, the price is cheap but the food is amazing. The fries are twice fried. The chicken and breading is the best. I am not sure why their business is so slow these days. Olde Dixie is the best fried chicken, period.

First I want to say we have been eating at Dixie since 1972. We RAVE over your food always have. When family and friends fly into town on vacation it is tradition that we stop and get Dixie chicken dinners. Well, we got chicken dinners tonight and unfortunately for the first time we were very very DISAPPOINTED…………. It took forever to get our order (more than normal), the french fries were not done. The new roll is different from the small soft dinner rolls they used to have. It was dry. The chicken legs were overdone. And the taste just wasn’t right. Was it a new recipe or different chicken? If so it was AWFUL!!!

Really a great place. Been coming here on and off for the ten years I have been in Orlando, and never had a bad meal. My father is notoriously picky about his chicken and even he likes it here. The staff is friendly and although the place is old and kind of run down, the meal more than makes up for it. The owner apparently died sometime last year and they say they are moving to a new place, but do not have one yet. If someone were to invest in a location, I bet they would recover their investment rather quickly. According to one of the ladies there, they are closing after Memorial day, so if you dont want to miss out I would receommend getting there asap!

Well, I am so disappointed! I had company tonight and I was excited to have them experience this food (my family lives in the area and we have ordered Olde Dixie many times in the past). I guess you have to check the boxes before you leave because they charged me for a breast and didn’t put it in the box. Of course I didn’t know until I got home and we were short on chicken with our company. I will not order from them again.

In a sea of resorts and chain restaurants, Olde Dixie stands out for frying chicken the right way. A shame it’ll be closing after 54 years. We need places like this in the community for the soul they bring. And of course, the excellent food. Pro-tip: fried corn husks.

This place is great for fried chicken. It is decades old……..very old. Named after Dixie highway that it used to be on. Needs a few thousand or hundreds of thousands of dollars to make it like the past. A clean good place to eat!

This is the best fried chicken. I’ve never had a problem they didn’t take care of. Not the best looking place, but your tongue will thank you.

Chicken here is good sodium is just right (low), fries are fried just right . The only other place that makes fried chicken this good is Crown Chicken in Kissimmee, Sad to hear they would be leaving this location after 54 years
