Thoroughly amazing! If you haven’t tried their food you really have to! I had the stuffed pork and my girlfriend got the clay pot, and not only was it super flavorful and filling but the food just had that home-y taste to it, and I think that’s special. If you’re looking for something different but familiar this is definitely it!

This place is absolutely fantastic! It’s like being invited to your grandparents for a good, home cooked meal. I’ve eaten there 3 times in the last week or so and the food has been wonderful. Chicken stroganoff, Borscht that warms the soul, and the chicken rolls are all delicious. The apple cake and baklava are very good as well, but I believe the baklava has the edge for me. Coffee with real cream is also tasty. It’s a bit small inside, but that just adds to the “old world” experience.

On the surface it’s meat and potatoes, but oh so good! The dishes we had were really well seasoned, not just ordinary beef and potatoes. The server gave us complementary little bread rolls stuffed with mashed potatoes and served with a side of something similar to a pesto for dipping: a garlic and herb spread. I had a clay pot which was filled with seasoned roast beef, pork, potatoes, and carrots in an oil based broth. This was then covered by a beautiful disc of bread which tasted a lot like a sourdough. The pot was also served with a side of pickled button mushrooms and red and yellow peppers. My wife had the stuffed green peppers. The stuffing was a dense mixture of seasoned ground beef, rice, tomatoes, onion, and spices. This was topped with sweet red peppers and an oil sauce.

Super tasty Ukrainian food. Great meatballs, chicken Stroganoff, cabbage salad (my fave), etc. The desserts are also very good. Once in a while she makes cheburekie (a “Crimean Tatar deep-fried turnover,” according to Wikipedia), pictured here, which we had for the first time today. It was spectacular. She made them fresh for us, with ground pork and some delightfully unfamiliar spices. Very homemade-feeling (which is a huge plus in my book). Everything seems carefully prepared, with pride, and there are lots of distinctive, delicate flavors. Schedule time for a nap afterward to complete the experience. Well worth the drive from Bloomington to Columbus.
