I ordered Fish… Catfish & Red Snapper and the fish was excellently done ~ not dry or overcooked. Instead of fries, you gotta get the greens and yams/sweet potatoes ~ its fabulous.but If you have to have fries, you won’t be disappointed… they seasoned well… you won’t want to share.

I’m picky about my catfish but this place is good. The fish is fried perfectly not too soft not too hard. The fries are a generous portion and seasoned with seasoning salt. They keep Crystal Hot sauce on the tables (Thank you Lord). But they ran out of tarter sauce. Customer service was anh. I was disappointed in that but the food was great. I’ll be back.

Food is decent but do NOT dine-in! Took almost an hour and a half to get fries and 5 wings and 5 pieces of snapper. No one said anything, acted like it was only 15 minutes. Omg! Never again. Can’t with black folks. Love em but I just can’t!

Everything was seasoned well I would classify this as REAL SOUL FOOD greens, yams, fried fish, good Mac and cheese would’ve had pic but I was too busy eating! I had called in an order for pick up, but when I arrived they hadn’t started my order. The people were nice about it so it wasnt too big a deal. The fries were good and not too salty. I also ordered a five piece chicken. The chicken was okay. The crust was good but the meat itself needed something.

I visited this place for the first time and was very impressed with the taste of the food. I met the owner, who by the way, cooks all the food. Very nice lady. And turns out,she is part of a family of other good soul food cooks who also have a business that I know of. So please try for yourself. You wont be disappointed–as I was told by other customers who were already eating there.

I’ve patronized this establishment 5 times this year (2020) to support a black-owned business, and every time the wait is never under 1 hour, even though I am always told that the wait will only be 15 to 25 minutes. One time I went and placed an order for 20 wings, waited an hour and a half, but only received 10 wings (had to wait another 40 minutes for the rest). This last time I went, once again ordered a 20 piece chicken meal, waited over an hour, and was berated by the owner for asking for light salt on my soggy, greasy French fries. The customer service is non-existent, the food is over priced and the only option for soul food in the desolated area of Antioch, CA., and there is no consistency with the business hours. The owner takes every customer request personal, and nothing is ever improved. Glad that COVID-19 conditions require masks and take out only, because the restaurant is dated and needs to be cleaner. I won’t be patronizing a business that treats its customers like an afterthought. This Black owned business needs to do better.
