I have visited twice now for dinner and it was great both times. The ambience is relaxing and the servers are friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. If you don’t want an expensive dinner, they do have some options of sandwiches and wraps that are more reasonable.

We were staying at the hotel for the fishing opener (which is also very nice) so we decided to make it simple and eat here. The bread that comes out was crusty on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. I had the pork medallions with risotto and asparagus. It was delightful. The pork was so tender I cut it with my butter knife – and it came out STEAMING hot! My husband had the walleye. The crust was flavorful and perfectly done and stayed on the fish which was flaky and light. The bartender is talented and meticulous and the server we had was attentive and friendly.

The new owner-chef, Matt, is putting out incredible food. For Valentine’s Day they had oysters which were the best I’ve had in a long time. Our entrees were pork osso buco and duck breast, both flawless. And dessert? Gigantic selection. We went with olive oil cake and hot apple crisp and they were tremendous but I think whatever we chose it would have been a homerun. And although we did not get it tonight their Margherita pizza is something I can’t recommend enough!

The lunch buffet can’t be beat in Mankato. It now costs $11.95 and is worth every penny. Cold sandwiches, six salads, bread, meats, cheeses, and olives. The soup of the day is also included but you need to ask a waitress to bring it to you. Many parking options in the area. Great, quick, and friendly service. If you’re looking for somewhere a little more upscale but still casual for lunch, this is it.

This was my first time dining at olives. I was excited to try the lunch buffet that I’ve seen advertised on fb lately. I’m not sure why I have never been here before but I was looking forward to something different in Mankato. I’m here to let you all know it was really bad. I will never go back because the food was disgusting. The service was very friendly and attentive.

We haven’t tried at Olive’s since the new ownership change but after our experience last night it certainly won’t be our last visit. Everything from the cocktails before dinner, to the service, to the meal itself was terrific. The Valentine’s Day menu was exceptional, especially the surf and turf. This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Mankato in a very long time.

Absolutely horrendous. The air-conditioning was not working. Too hot to stay. We left when our friends arrived and went to another restaurant. Really surprised they were not fixing the air-conditioning.

I took my family for dinner on a Saturday evening. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The steaks were done perfectly with great flavor. Veggies and potatoes were delicious. Perfect portions. Prices are very fair. Overall, I’d give our experience a 10! Definitely a favorite destination for us! Well done!!

I’ve loved since olives it was by Massads. However, I think Chef Matt did a great job and continues to do so. The food is still wonderful, even tho the menu has changed. As someone in the culinary world, it’s hard to find such light, tasty food around mankato, I’ll always return! Oh and get the lemon broccolini pizza, you won’t be disappointed.
