Omusubi Gonbei specializes in Omusubi, or rice ball. They open earlier than other restaurants in the Mistuwa food court, so if you get there too early and hungry, you can try these guys. It is interesting how gourmet rice balls are becoming popular, who can justify their high price point for rice balls nowadays with its good demand for them.

After coming to Mitsuwa so many times, I usually ate ramen and other foods, but when I gave Gonbei a chance. I ended up always coming here just to eat Gonbei, forget the rest, its affordable and extremely tasty with good volume!

Located in the Mitsuwa Market food court this is a good place to grab some freshly made onigiri (rice balls). The service is fast and the employees are friendly.

One of my favorite shops in this marketplace. It service Japanese rice balls made with high quality rice import from Japan. There’s varies fillings. My favorites are the spicy tuna, kimbu (sweet seaweed), and spam musubi. A lot of my friends love the salmon and the bomb (combination of items stuffed together). Their karaage (fried chicken) is also pretty good. Highly recommend getting some if you are ever in the area.

The Musubi here are absolutely delicious and fresh despite being located in a supermarket’s food court.

Omusubi Gonbei offers a wide variety of rice balls with various fillings. The portion sizes are quite generous for the price, though the amount of filling varies from type to type. Having tried nearly all of them, the salmon is definitely a classic and a good deal, but the mushroom is also worth buying. This place accepts credit card.

They serve different type of rice ball and their size are gigantic. I tried the oyster, salmon, mushroom and kelp rice ball and their karaage taste great too. It’s good that they provide vegan options too!

Delicious. Various types of rice balls. They gave way too much rice tho especially if it’s just with 1 shrimp tempura
