Modern Asian dining experience inspired by the creators’ Hong Kong heritage. We have dims sum that offers guests the opportunity to sample a wide variety of dishes, and is often enjoyed in a social setting with friends and family. It is a fun and lively experience that is both delicious and culturally rich.

I was excited about trying this location after eating at the other location several times. This location is actually more convenient for me, but I was very disappointed in the new location. When we first arrived and was being escot to our seat by the hostess. A lady came up before I could sit down with a cart of food asking if we would like anything off her cart. I was shocked cause this concept was new to me and wasn’t offered at the other location. It definitely was overwhelming for me. I felt like it was an open buffet on wheels. As other customers place, they hand directly on uncovered food to pick over. Not for me! We ordered our normal off the menu, but it was too quick. Like it was sitting in the back waiting on us. Even our server was off, I had to ask several times for soysauce. Eventually, someone else brought it to me. Then we paid in cash. I guess our server thought she was Intitle to 30% tip because she did not bring our changed back. So, we had to track her down for that as well. Don’t get me wrong, we love the regular items we usually order. I hate this happen since we love the other location.

First time going to Open Rice and it was everything and more. We went for their sunday dim sum brunch and it was amazing. The service, the atmosphere and the food were just outstanding. And you can tell it was very authentic as it seemed like the go to place for Asian families. We decided to try a variety of dumplings and 2 different types of congee and Asian vegetables. Here is a list of all the items we had. Two congees: shrimp and pork + century egg, yu choy, gai lan / Chinese broccoli, soup dumplings (Xiao long bao), Shanghai pan fried dumplings (sheng jian bao), taro dumplings, BBQ pork buns (char siu Bao), Tofu Skin dish and a Passion fruit Boba Tea. Highly recommend to try something new and check out this awesome place at the Metropolitan.

Large menu with a mix of East and Southeast Asian dishes. Food is well seasoned and portion size is good for a family style meal. Great spot for pictures and hosting parties or get togethers. Going with more people and sharing would allow you to try more dishes but they do have single portion dishes. Ramen was a bit too salty.

Really enjoyed our experience, cannot wait to come back. This is the best Asian food in Charlotte for sure. Excellent staff, our waiter Michael was super on top of it and was so much fun. The bang bang shrimp is my favorite, and my girlfriend loves the Singapore noodles. The roasted duck was delicious, and the fried golden buns were such a nice treat. Will 100% be coming back.

Awesome food and service. In my opinion, some of the most authentic Chinese and Cantonese dishes you can find in Charlotte. I loved my main, which was a cast clay pot brisket stew. Although I did not take a picture, it is a sight to behold for sure. The flavors were rich and unique. I loved my drink, which was a coffee Boba with brown sugar called “Good Morning Tiger.” The bubble waffle was to die for. It was amazing. Just be warned very sugary, not the best dessert on a diet.

I have tried the other Open Rice on Rea Road before. This newly opened Open Rice has more space for seating and it’s half open kitchen. The food come out super quick, and the service is good.

Went on their first day serving Dim Sum, good food & service, food is brought to the table as soon as it was ready (not all together at the same time), so glad they added Dim Sum to their menu. Went on a Sunday early afternoon, parking was a nightmare.
