We came in at noon on a Sunday right before it got busy. Very friendly staff, and quick service. Sandwiches were good, but could have used some dressing (especially on the Italian). Good portion size and value for the money too. I’d eat here again next time I’m in Girard.

I had a great time! Plenty of seating in a neat, wood themed atmosphere, way better than the box stores. My waitress was fun, friendly and funny. The cheese Stix were cheesy and garlicky, great! And those cookies! Small, perfect desert made soft just how I like them. This pizza joint is doing a great job of balancing the small town friendly feel with clean, fast service and good food.

Food is usually good. Atmosphere is clean and nice. However, service is spotty. I’ve had good experiences and bad. Like 50/50. Our most recent trip was the worst. A large group of my family came in to eat together. There was 11 of us. We asked to move some tables/chairs together so we could all sit together. We were rudely told no and then the staff that told us no, went to the back to gossip and laugh at us all while we waited for the rest of our family to show up and decide if we were staying or leaving. We eat together as family every Tuesday. Needless to say, we won’t ever be coming back as a family. I love the salads here, but might never order one again after this.

The store was empty when we arrived. We had never been there before and didn’t know to order at counter. We sat down at a table. After about 3 minutes we were finally greeted and told how to order. The pizza was fantastic!! We camp at the lake several times a year and will make frequent visits to Opies in Girard! One suggestion I would give is greet your customers when they come inside. No one acknowledged us until after we sat down. Other than that it was a great experience!!
