Very unique San Jose restaurant with European American cuisine. The building itself is quite historic, accompanied by the unique mechanical pianos, this is a fun restaurant to celebrate or for any occasion.

The most quaint and charming restaurant! Delicious food, entertaining pianos, and attentive service. It feels like you’re transported back to better times.

Loved this place. Great settings and special experience. However the food still have room for improvement but definitely not complaining looking at the price they charged. And yes book a table before you go I got lucky to get a table by walking in but you definitely want to reserve in advance

Celebrated my anniversary here. Even though this place was more low key and casual than the fancy French place I went to last year, the food was a much better deal and the atmosphere was less stuffy. I like that you order at the counter so you can go when you’ve decided on what you want. I loved the gnocchi and the peach ambrosia fountain drink. Next time I’d try a pasta dish. The steak was ok. The sea bass was tasty but by then I was already full. Sadly I did have room for dessert. Next time I’d try the trio sampler and/or another pasta dish. The staff was lovely. The clientele here is significantly older, but no one made me feel like I didn’t belong.

Mostly the food is very rich outside of just getting a bowl of the noodles with olive oil. It’s good though and it’s nice to treat yourself once in awhile. The music is really nice the atmosphere was great everyone was in a good mood. The server was very attentive. The owner made sure that my mom could get through in her wheelchair. I really recommend this place, it’s fun!

Essentially a museum of working player pianos and other self-playing instruments–xylophone, violin, giant music boxes and more–with an interesting restaurant. The food was quite good, we had the Austrian goulash, pear salad, profiteroles and made to order sodas–the Poppy Dew and the Cherry Sour Phosphate. I recommend everything, especially the profiteroles and the sodas. The goulash was served on great crunchy spaetzle and had a rich flavor. Seating is limited and you need to make reservations a few days ahead. The tables were close together without a lot of room to walk around between, but the atmosphere was great. Different player pianos/etc. play automatically from time to time, several are fascinating to watch. The staff is excellent. No tipping; a 14.5% service fee is automatically added. The prices were fine for the food quality. The night we were there the clientele were mostly older than 35. Definitely a unique and fun dining experience.

This is a very atmospheric place with European food. In addition to gastronomic pleasure, you will also get aesthetic. The restaurant houses a museum of old electric pianos that play.

Ordered sampler trio and the tenderloin was really good. Shrimp & salmon were also good but not too surprising.

Definitely one of the more interesting places we’ve gone. There are lots of old-time musical and other devices. The player pianos and other musical devices still work and play period music. I’m not sure if the popcorn or roasted peanut machines work, but I would have loved some.

Very cool decorations. The player pianos were neat. A few were a bit loud, but they cycled often enough and stop here and there.
