Orient Cafe is under new management. I love all the updates they have made to the place; it feels welcoming. The food has also improved, and everything we ordered was delicious. Our server was friendly, and she gave us excellent service. We are returning soon to try the pho!

They give you free fried rice and they also have brown rice for an upcharge. The shrimp egg for young is slightly above average. You get three patties in your order. The general chicken tastes better than it looks. The chicken with broccoli the portion could have been about 10% more than what they actually put in the container they didn’t completely fill up the container. And I think the same with the general chicken too the portion size seems a little bit smaller like you would get from a Thai restaurant. The age drop suit was probably the most disappointing of my dish. It was kind of bland. The gravy is thick but tastes like it has a little bit too much soy sauce in it.

If I could give this place a negative review I would. Absolutely disgusting. Completely wrong order. Staff was rude when picking up. Wontons had absolutely piss poor filling. Panda Express even fills them more than this place. We ordered fried rice with our meals and got white rice, no problem..I’ll add my own eggs, own soy sauce, and my own vegetables. Crispy shrimp and walnuts was soggy and I believe they used sweet and sour sauce as their special sauce or whatever it’s called. The sweet and sour was runny and chunky and watered down. The only damn good thing was the prepackaged duck sauce. 10/10 will not be recommending this place to my friends.

Orient Cafe used to be our favorite and then it changed hands and was not. Now I am happy to report that there are new owners and the changes are back to making this a great place to visit. The interior has been completely revamped inside and out and is so much brighter and cleaner and more modern. My only note would be the soups need a little more flavor but the sesame chicken is back to being great.

Supposedly under new ownership? Food was not as good as many previous experiences here. Some dishes had a funky smell and taste. Greasy too. We ordered 4 dishes and ended up eating a little and tossing leftovers. I’ve probably eaten at this restaurant over 20 times but cannot see myself doing it again. Oh well.

I ordered beef with broccoli and general tso’s chicken (white meat). They were both very good and the chicken was also very tender, it’s probably the only general tso’s I’ve had that the sauce had a kick to it. I also ordered the fried crab meat wontons, this was my first time trying these and they weren’t too bad, just not a lot of crab meat in it.

The picture doesn’t do it justice! I ordered the lemon chicken for lunch for the first time! Super quick online ordering. Chicken is crispy and fresh, lemon sauce is perfectly sweet, and the rice Is fresh. Highly recommend if you’re in the Missouri city area. However, it appears the restaurant is having AC issues, so I wouldn’t go in person at this moment.
