We have crafted 35 types of wonderful donuts for the past 41 years. Ten years ago we introduced fresh roasted Turkey Sandwiches, Tri-tip as well as Veggie Sandwiches. This last month saw the introduction of Turkey Sundaes to the menu. Hot mashed potatoes, with fresh turkey, gravy and topped with cranberry. So satisfying! We accept all credit and debit cards for payment as well as having an ATM for your convenience. we’re open at 5:00 am daily, closing at 5:00 pm week days and 2:00 pm week ends.

Family owned and operated by Michael Morse since 1976, Original Ferrell’s Santa Cruz is the destination of choice for both locals and visitors alike seeking fresh, quality donuts and more: such as great bagel sandwiches and made-to-order big and delicious sandwiches. When most Santa Cruz locals think donuts, they think Original Ferrell’s, which is located at 17th Ave. and Capitola Road. Generations have come to enjoy the family tradition of bringing in the kids for sweet treats, juices, and their kid-pleasing hot chocolate. And with their newly expanded menu, there are many more reasons to enjoy Original Ferrell’s. You bet-cha! Weekdays, the Santa Cruz store opens at 5 a.m and the Scotts Valley and Aptos stores at 6 a.m. With these early-bird opening hours, Original Ferrell’s stores are a must-stop destination for a good first cup-o’-Joe and a good bite to eat. The Santa Cruz Live Oak store is not exactly a tourist-oriented location. However, visitors from San Jose and San Francisco to Salinas to Carmel to Santa Barbara, some how find their way to the best-dern donut shop in town.

Fresh And Made-To-Order. Who would have thunk it that you could get a really good sandwich at a donut shop? Let alone, an all-natural turkey sandwich or an all-natural trip-tip sandwich from a donut shop? Owner Mike Morse, who has an extensive food background, decided to expand on his menu by offering “really good sandwiches,” from morning until closing. With a tradition of offering quality donuts and pastries since 1976, no way would Mike not provide the same high-quality with his made-to-order sandwiches.

Value, the donuts are good and with how much they cost they are definitely worth it! This location has plenty of seating and the staff great. The customer in front of us asked if they had a chocolate glaze which they didn’t. They then offered to and did make them for him without him even asking!

Well this was an unexpected, wonderful surprise!! We stopped in for a quick lunch before a boat tour, had limited time and low expectations. We just needed food to cram down our gullets in a hurry. Instead what I got was one of the very best turkey sandwiches I’ve ever had. The bun was amazing, the turkey and cranberries were fantastic, but what made the sandwich were the shredded carrots. Absolutely amazing. Thanks, Ferrell’s!!
