Good pizza, oven hot, good flavor. Crust was bready/chewy whoch I liked but I know nit everyone does. Toppings were plentiful. Mushrooms appeared canned. Sauce was enough with good flavor, of italian spices, not too sweet or too tangy. Not a very greasy pie, as some are, depending on the cheese (or if you get meat toppings). I liked the stretch / melty of the cheese. A little spendy, medium with 2 toppings.

i usually dont write reviews but this one was worthy, i was looking for a good pizza n originally i was gonna order vocellis but after calling 3 separate times they didnt answer. i work at valvoline n saw this place across the street so i thought to give it a try. this should be the universal standard on what a good pizza is. good authentic sauce, good cheese, slightly crunchy dough on the bite but at the end the crust fluffy n flavorful. ive never seen them here before due to me just moving back home to pittsburgh from miami but this is definitely my new go to pizza spot. well done

Less than 15 min from walk-in to order being ready. The owner is super friendly. You can tell he is passionate about what he’s doing and that just makes eating the food so much more enjoyable. I also appreciate how simple the menu is.

This is truly the “original” Home Town Pizza. They’ve been in various locations in the area for over 30 years and have consistently been our favorite. Both their pizzas and sandwiches are out of this world-appropriate since they are in Moon. Seriously though, the quality is outstanding and you can tell these guys take great pride in putting out a fantastic product. Dine In or Take Out – either way you will not be disappointed.

I am an original Brooklynite, transplanted to Pittsburgh area. I’ve been looking for pizza that is New York style. I tried Anthony’s Coal Fired, Aroma, as well as other so called pizzerias. They were all Yuck…serving flat bread w cheese and tomato sauce. I finally found what I’ve been looking for in Original Hometown Pizza. Be forewarned, the place looks run down. The decor is a nightmare from the 1970’s, with little cartoon pizza slices on the windows. It was skeptical upon entry.

Just moved to the area from Virginia and wanted to find a go-to pizza place. The guy behind the counter was very polite and welcoming. We ordered a Sausage and Pepperoni and an Omnivore pizza. They were both delicious and the crust was perfectly crispy. Even my 9 year old said the pizza was amazing. Definitely will be returning here!!! Perfect place to go if you like thinner crust pizza!

Ok so I have to be honest. From looking at the place from the outside I was not impressed and thought to myself , “your by yourself so how bad could it be, besides I was only a little hungry.” I walked in from the side door and there was a desk or 2 with paperwork on them, again certainly not trying to impress me. As I stood at the front counter there was a sauce stained menu and I grabbed it looking at it they had a 12” and I think 18” on the menu. I noticed they had sandwiches on the menu and before I could ask about them I was quickly informed that they just had the appetizers and pizza. Well that blew my idea of just grabbing a hoagie and leaving. I ordered a 12” with extra cheese, pepperoni and sausage. Was told it would be 10-15 minutes- no problem.

Visiting Pitt for work and this is a wonderful place to stop for fresh pizza made as you order. Plenty of tables and was greeted with a smile. I got the 12” omnivore minus mushrooms and it was a real treat!
