The Original Pancake House was founded in Portland, Oregon by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Today, we’re bringing their vision of serving authentic pancakes, waffles, eggs and other traditional breakfast recipes to Normal, Illinois. We use only the best ingredients, such as 93 score butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and our own sourdough starter.
We even have gluten-free and vegetarian breakfast options!

Great breakfast place! Lot of options including pancakes, waffles and latkas. Simple Eggs sausage and hash browns with a little sausage gravy on the side is perfect! Of course coffee is spot on! Company I was with had bacon and it was sliced thick and done really well!

We went there today for the first time ever, and let me tell you something it was great it was better then great Let’s start at the atmosphere it was so clean and so bright, the staff seemed so happy and friendly, our waitress she was wonderful,extremely friendly and very helpful! The manager was the greatest very active, helping his stuff by cleaning tables helping them serve food, he was talking to us and all the other customers. So friendly!! We will return to this place!!

Cute and clean place, that’s where the good ends. Our server was pretty much non-existent. Another girl took our drink order and brought our food. We wanted to tip her not our actual server who really did nothing. Hard biscuits, skimpy on gravy, way underdone/raw hash browns, and the pancakes were….custardy?? Very strange, underdone texture. Also very expensive! $50 for breakfast, I expected better.

The service and atmosphere is really good. This is a new store, so everything is modern and clean. The portions are large, but the food was kind of disappointing. First off, don’t expect to eat healthy here. Almost all meals were 1,000+ calories… Some topping 2,000. I got the meal with turkey sausage links (which were good) that was listed at 570 calories, about 400 calories less than any other meal. The only other healthy options were oatmeal side and fruit side (for $7 !!!).

Met a friend for breakfast, fairly early. They were already getting busy. The food was good, but was shocked at how high the prices were, which I’m sure is everywhere. The service was so so. There were long stretches between a stop by our server. I kept running out of coffee and water. And, I’m sure he was busy, but he had another booth right by ours at which he regularly stopped. I tried to wave him down a few times and he just walked on past. I had my back to the front, so I did not see the people waiting, and they asked us to leave. At least they did it nicely. We should have gotten the hint when they totally stopped coming to see if we needed anything else. As we were walking out, they did open a.large area that had been closed. Maybe they got someone extra to come in to work that area. Anyway, the food was ok, on the cool side when it arrived, but tasty. The last time I was there the server gave me my coffee for free since I am a senior. This guy charged me, and, it’s not cheap there for a couple small small cups that don’t get refilled. If I go back, I’ll not get coffee, ask for a pitcher of water, and time it differently.

The food is always delicious. The staff are so kind and so friendly. The manager Adam, he actually loves his job! It shows, 100%. This is absolutely the best place to eat in Peoria. We always have such fun and wonderful food here. It is a must try for us! The food and the people is why we keep going back.

The food was good but a bit pricey compared to other similar places. One thing I didn’t like was that most meals you had to chose between hash browns, pancakes or toast. Mist would expect the hash browns and or toast to already come with a meal of that price point. To add toast it was $4 and $6 for the others. It was very clean, the staff was friendly and the food was good!
