Traveling through Sumpter over Easter weekend and this was practically the only place open on Sunday — and was delicious! I have celiac, so I needed #glutenfree options. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the Asahi roll. Both were great — but they did not have GF soy sauce.

Very dated on inside. Carpet stained and window sill needs to be cleaned. For was good portions for cost. Sushi was not the best presentation or taste. Have had better from Publix. Server had to be called back several times for drink refills. Will do for a quick Japanese fix.

Food was freshly prepared. Ordered Hibachi Chicken & Teriyaki Chicken dinners. Chicken was not as dry as we expected as it was chicken breast chunks (somewhat marinated & moist, as explained). Carrots had a pretty good flavor, a little sweet. I would consider as a substitute, should we return. As i would like to try the Steak & Chicken. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant tables & seating area were clean. This was our 1st visit. The server did an excellent job of explaining menu items & how the food was prepared. Description matched food received. Very important, the price was decent & affordable !

I ordered meals for four people via phone for pickup and was charged around $50, which is fine. When she rang me up, she said “four meals?” and I confirmed. When I got to my destination and realized it, I called and they had already closed. I left a detailed voicemail and called a couple more times with no answer so at the very least, I expected a call the next day and got nothing.

I ordered food online thru seamless and when i get back home my order is not what i wanted. (Yes i should’ve checked before i left but it slipped my mind) Anyway i get bck home which is like 30mins away and my teriyaki steak is chicken and shrimp. Im allergic to shrimp. Why did i not get notified if there was no steak left. I couldn’t even eat my food

I would not call this a good sushi or Japanese restaurant. Their house salad had ranch dressing. No other option. Ginger??? Nope. All their rolls were made with a crab stick. Smh. I won’t be coming here again. No recommended.

Osaka is conveniently located in the center of Sumter. It’s not my first choice for hibachi or sushi. Service & food quality is mediocre overall all it’s an okay deal for the price you pay.
