This is my neighborhood Oscar’s. I’m a creature of dining habit so I only ever order the delicious West Coast Burrito with shredded beef or shrimp. I get it chimi style with queso. So my five-star review is only based on that one dish.

While I was in town last week from Destin, FL, a friend of mine (originally from NM, living in Nashville) raved about the shredded beef tacos in the fried taco shell & took me there for lunch. He said Oscar’s is the only place in the Nashville area serving those kind of tacos that remind him of home. He was right on, and they were absolutely delish! I’m back home in Destin and am researching places here that serve something similar for when he comes to see me here!

I’ve never had a bad experience food or service related here. It’s always fresh, delicious, and massive proportions enough to make me feel stuffed, and provide a second meal entirely for the wife. Friendly staff and clean environment. We have had good food from other locations. The Oscars downtown Nashville and Mt. Juliet were good. We ended up having 3 hairs in three different items on the same order. When I went to tell them after finding the third hair they blew me off and said it wasn’t theirs. The food was also very bland and had no flavor.

The absolute worst taco I’ve tried in my entire life. Literally ZERO flavor. Not even salt and pepper. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT waste your hard earn money in any of these restaurants. By the way, don’t get fooled, this is not Oscar’s taco shop, they sold the business to west coast taco shop.

Unfortunately this was one of our favorite places to eat in town and now I have a bad vibe from them. They made an error with my to go order, so I got home and called to see if they would take note of my name so that I could come in at a later time to get the right order (without being charged). The manager said he would only do that if I drove back in now or tomorrow with my food. That is not good customer service to ask someone who is hungry to drive all the way back in to show the error. My mom owned a business for 25 years and she taught me that it’s not worth $10 to lose a customer. It’s more important to keep the customer. But he said that’s not how they do it there, so hey, at least he was honest about their business practice lol
