Delicious food! Ordered raw oysters, mussels in white wine sauce, clam pasta and chicken parmesan. Very yummy! Food was so good I was so happy eating it the entire time. Also very great, attentive service– when we arrived we did not have a reservation, but we were given an option to be seated at the bar. We then ordered our food, staff joked with us multiple times and checked to make sure we were enjoying our food. Staff are friendly and just very good vibes at this restaurant! Authentic Italian food and I definitely want to come back someday soon. After I finished my food I was full, but still wanted to eat more!

Very friendly staff, but the food was just ok. Nothing wow’d us. The calamari appetizer was not appetizing, it was kind of rubbery, not a good start to a meal. The meatballs had a lot of fillings and not as much meat as I would’ve liked. And the veal chop entree special was just ok, sad to say, but the veggie sides had more flavor than the veal chop.

The food is great; I had no complaints on the quality. I had the New Year’s Eve menu “Spigola Livornese” Chilean Sea Bass and it was presented well and tasted good. It sat atop spinach and capers, and was lightly covered by red tomato-based sauce, kalamata olives, and a small grape tomato. I tried to savor the dish but I think hunger made me scarf it down more than it deserved.

It’s an exceptional place that leaves you senseless with delicious smells that make you forget to grab photos of outstanding dishes. This is going to be a regular date night destination. Nino meets and greets in the evening and draws great joy in treating guests like they have entered his home. Homemade dishes with authentic tastes of Sicily. In fact, enjoy a tour of the eastern coast with the Osteria da Nino in 2023.

My wife and I have been regulars at this fine restaurant ever since it opened. And last night we had a fantastic Christmas Eve dinner here! The delicious portions combined with the excellent service (and Nino’s special talent for making everyone feel like family!) made for a very memorable experience. We will continue to return and urge everyone coming to Shirlington to check this place out. Highly recommended!

Family run business. I have returned to eat here six times in the last three months! I lived in Europe for the last five years and I absolutely love the food and atmosphere here!!! Nino lets me take my sparkling water bottle home when I don’t finish my water my favorites are the bread with pesto… and the brussel sprouts are SO good!

We try to go once a twice a year, for the good food and atmosphere. This time, we went for restaurant week and unfortunately the veal was over cooked, chewy and rather difficult to eat. Overall we were a little underwhelmed with our evening. The wine was the best part, but since we’ve had great experiences before we will try again some time down the road.

Excellent food and even better service! We came in late on a Friday night and sat at the bar. Outdoor tables looked nice as well. The owner greeted us and was so welcoming. Our bartender, Holt was awesome and very knowledgeable about the wine menu. We ordered the Branzino and the Lobster Fra Diablo special. It was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be making this our new go-to Italian spot!
