The wait staff really give it their all. They had a live band and to them looked like it was just another day. The staff are professional and the food was amazing. Everything came out just as ordered and the chefs have a real handle on things. I wish the new owners all the best and we will be back. Thank you so much.

Great atmosphere. Food was very good. Had Chicken fingers for appetizers was delish. Pot Roast Mash potatoes (they are homemade)mixed vegetables , Philly Grill Cheese and fries Chipotle Quesadilla all 3 dishes were great. Food comes out hot very tasty. Our waitress Barbara was very nice kept checking to make sure everything was okay. Will definitely be back again.

As locals in Keyport this was our first time ever dining here, we usually go to the same handful of restaurants but remembered seeing that this spot had re-opened as something new and it’s super close by, so we decided to give it a try. We went for a lunch date and had a really great experience! Charlene, our waitress, went above and beyond with her service, attentiveness and recommendations since we were first timers. I’m a vegetarian and had plenty of options to chose from which is rare. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to check out the Sunday brunch that Charlene told us about!

The calamari was excellent so was the soup. My burger was OK. I would have preferred a little maillard reaction on my burger and some pickles by default. I suppose I could have asked for pickles. Will definitely go back and try something else based on the calamari and soups. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Like how they decorated it.

I want to see this place do well so I’m hoping this is seen as constructive criticism because the meals have been good. It has the beginnings of something great; diner meets restaurant is what we’d call it. We have been here about 5 times for breakfast over the last 2 months either as a couple or with a group, and this is where we are at. The staff is great, always friendly and apologetic (but they shouldn’t need to be) and breakfast portions are large. The food has been very good so far. We know we are going to get a decent breakfast, and gluten free options are available (thank you!) BUT… The coffee is awful. Super weak almost like a watered down coffee (but I know it’s not, I’ve seen them make it) and the decaf has an off taste to it. Something is definitely wrong, so I highly suggest looking into that because if a diner can’t make a good cup of coffee, it’s a problem. My husband is supposed to drink decaf, and we try it every time and it just tastes terrible Almost soap-like and it’s not from the cups. Anyway, the only other problem at Ovidia is timing and meal accuracy. Meals take MUCH longer than they should, and one meal may come out sometimes a good 5-10 minutes before another, which isn’t fun when eating with a group. Yesterday we were there for breakfast and ordered 5 meals. Not kidding that every single order was incorrect. Eggs were done incorrectly, incorrect meat, ran out of gluten free bread so received a half portion, cheese where there was supposed to be no cheese, it was a hot mess, literally. The server apologized and did correct it all, and we left with a lot of food in containers, but this is just a constant problem here. I don’t know where the disconnect is but that also desperately needs to be addressed. One more thing to mention… please train waitstaff that a short stack with one scrambled egg on the side doesn’t mean a second entire meal with potatoes and toast. It’s a small add on. Good luck Ovidia, we will continue to be in, and hope to see some positive changes!

Went for lunch last month the food was good. Went last night for dinner the food was not as good as my first visit and the portions were smaller. Though the staff was friendly and working hard running around like crazy (2 servers and 1 host on a Friday night which is not enough) the service and organization is a disaster. The Restaurant wasn’t even half full and they couldn’t keep up. Many people were annoyed. It was not a pleasant dining experience. If you dont have the adequate staff you shouldn’t be advertising to bring more people in. I would like to see this Restaurant do well. You are new and people are giving you a chance but you are ruining it. Make some changes soon.
