Thank you very much Pacific Seas Restaurant. Ever since I arrived in Utah, I’ve been looking for some pacific food. Yesterday I was very satisfied when I got the food. The banana with coconut cream, Lu sipi, povi masima, chicken curry, sapasui, and vai fala (otai)…Not only was the food delicious but the smiles of those who prepared our food. I highly recommend this restaurant this is the best restaurant since I came to Utah!

Turkey tails, Turkey tails, Turkey tails. Oh, my! This place was super good. We also had the ribs, pork chop, and the lamb wrapped in taro leaves (luau). First time having Polynesian cuisine, the cashier was very friendly and explained the whole menu To us. There’s no description of what the items are on the board. A whole group of Pacific Islander construction workers came to eat while we were there so that’s a good endorsement too.

I agree with the other reviews that called this comfort food. Unfortunately for me I also saw that the cooking is unhealthy. I thought I could get the lamb and was kind of shocked to see them putting the lamb in the deep fryer. I like trying different dishes and cuisines and I thought my choices of lamb wrapped taro leaves would be healthy but the food was generally overcooked for my liking. I later talked to a Tongan couple at my gym about my experience at this restaurant which they go to every Sunday. They said they always have to use the sauna the next day to detox from eating their. They also said they prefer Mexican cuisine to their own native food because Mexican food gives them energy for working whereas eating at Pacific Seas makes them need a nap. I wish I could have found a dish that resembled something healthier.

Wow! What an amazing discovery. I’ve been living in Salt Lake all my life on the west side and never came across this gem of a restaurant that’s been around for 30 years.

I’ve dined in and have gotten the delivery service. Not 1 time have I had a bad experience. This place is a Utah Staple, it ain’t going no where. I’ve seen them come and go as far as Polynesian food goes. This is a great family with great food

The building was clean, well-lit, and welcoming. The staff there was very friendly and professional, and I was able to place my order & walk out with it in hand in less than 8 minutes!

The oati’s use to not be pre-made and we’re a lot more chucky. They also use to carry the water melon flavor but only had mango the day I went. Was a little disappointed with the slip…

The fact that this place even exists is just another little fantastic gem in the SLC dining experience. Unfortunately it is a gem we only discovered right before moving. If you like polynesian foods do yourself a favor and try this one out. It’s authentic Tongan food of an excellence you rarely find outside the islands.
