Pacifico is a 5 because they are exactly what they set out to be – an always good go-to mid-range dining experience. Not a Michelin star, thank goodness, as I can’t always afford that. Cocktails are in the $12-13 range. Tapas under $15. Best mains around $30. Healthy portions. Solid presentations. Friendly staff (people reflect what you give off – it’s a two-way street).

The food was tasty. They really know how to prepare seafood. The calamari was delicious as well as the scallops. My risotto needed a little more seasoning for my taste but other than that no complaints. The staff was very friendly and loved sitting upstairs at that corner window. Will definitely be back.

Very good service, we had the mussels with red sauce. The broth was so good I could have drank it. Whole sea base was a little on the salty side but still really good. It does come with black olives that you can request to take out. Shrimp and scallops with lobster ravioli was my mom’s favorite. We had another dish which was also delicious it, seafood Paella had mussels, clams, scallops and shrimp with saffron rice.

The food was delicious, I would recommend the skirt steak or the seabass. The food is well portioned and seasoned just right. The service was good, and the staff were amicable. I would come here again.

I recently visited Pacifico, an establishment in downtown New Haven that transforms into a dance club in the evening. Unfortunately, my experience as a black patron left much to be desired. While the ambiance and music were enjoyable, I encountered an incident that marred my evening.

Been here a couple of times before. If it were closer, we’d go all the time. Drove almost 2 hours. Totally worth it. Great food. Great drinks. Excellent atmosphere. Parking was right across the street. Super easy.

We stayed in New Haven for a local college orientation and were at a hotel in the area of the restaurant. There are so many places to choose from in the area so we thought we thought we had found the right spot. It was a surprise to us that most of restaurants were very slow. We were greeted by several servers at the door and opted to sit at the bar which was empty except for two other people. The bartender did come over but lack of enthusiasm and we had to ask for water several times. We ordered a glass of white wine, marginal. They have a full bar so maybe a cocktail or mixed drink would have been a better choice. We started with shrimp cerviche which was ok but had very few chips and only a few shrimp, flavor was decent. For dinner we split the beet salad which was good and a generous portion, also we had fish tacos which came with 3 small tacos which were also just ok. We just weren’t wowed by the flavors and a lot of staff standing around talking and the bartender more interested in looking at his phone than clearing our dishes or checking to see if we needed anything. They have a lot of competition in this area for restaurants and while it wasn’t bad we won’t be going back.

This is one of the best meals I have had dining out, stellar food experience from beginning to end. Surprisingly, it was all tapas and small plates, no entrees necessary! The variety of tastes and flavors elevated this restaurant to top status. People comment about this place being pricey, but this New Yorker felt that the prices were quite fair, considering the sophistication of the cuisine.
