We walked in at maybe 6:30 PM on a Saturday night and almost left because the restaurant was completely empty- never a good sign on a weekend night during peak dinner hours. The menu isn’t extensive- some of my favorites like Khao Soi and pad kra pow weren’t there. We ordered Mai Thai, Pad Thai, and Hot Basil with pork and the food came out incredibly fast. We were surprised at how good the food was. The portions were not generous – maybe four small pieces of chicken and three small strips of tofu in the Pad Thai- but the quality was there. They have solid Thai staples and clearly have a pretty busy takeout business. If I lived in New Haven I’d likely get takeout from here every once in awhile.

We went to Pad Thai for lunch a couple of days ago and were pleasantly surprised. The place is unassuming but tastefully decorated without assaulting your senses. The single waiter serving about ten to twelve tables was extremely efficient and no nonsense type – the best I have seen in recent times. The appetizer and the each one of the three entrees were excellent. The food was so good that I almost wanted to order one more entree to have right there before leaving. The best thing of all was that in this day of price-gouging by restaurants blaming the pandemic, inflation and this and that, the prices here were highly reasonable. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts.

The noodles were very good. We had the tofu triangles as an appetizer and I would not recommend those.

LOVE! Got the sizzling shrimp and vegetable fried rice. Absolutely delicious. Very nice staff.

The soups are great, but Pad Thai has more sugar than noodles — a huge disappointment.

Did not get the order correct and my partner’s food came out 20 minutes after mine. There was no chicken in the pad thai and I ordered Pork fried rice and got chicken… flavor was OK, ice in water is old.

Visited this restaurant today as one my friend was in town and we wanted to go down the memory lane as this used be our spot for best Thai food in town and were so disappointed as it lost its charm completely.

Fried rice was amazing! Server was very attentive to our dietary restrictions. Wish there was a veg hot and sour soup, otherwise great selection!
