This may easily be the best Italian restaurant in Richmond. Starting with the elegant decour and ambiance, the service is stellar and wait staff is attentive and friendly. The portions ensure you don’t leave hungry. They have an excellent assortment of appetizers and their house garlic bread, light and airy, is to die for! What a great experience! Would gladly go back.

This has got to be the absolute best Italian restaurant in the area. The food is incredible! Absolutely amazing flavors, everything was cooked to perfection, the portions are great, I have no complains at all. The service is just as fantastic. It’s worth every penny. Palermo is clearly a local favorite spot with good food. At our table we enjoyed Sea Bass, Lasagna, Meatballs….covered a lot of ground. We made our first inside visit here recently and enjoyed the food with some caveats, its pretty pricey in the first place and then there is an automatic gratuity 20% stated on a sign when you walk in. Okay I get it, supply chain, labor etc., but even the menus are not clear on food prices with stickers hastily applied stating “menu prices are not accurate” not to mention white out on many of the prices….their is obviously pricing confusion at Palermo that detracts from the value of what appears to be a solid following, good Italian food/drink, and environment. I would return, but for now just choose takeout.

We were back in town visiting family and was looking forward to a delicious dinner! Unfortunately, that was not our experience, which was not the norm for here. My husband ordered the gnocchi and added grilled shrimp, and when he got his meal, the shrimp smelled extremely fishy! My momma ordered a dish with shrimp and hers were not smelly at all. My husband tasted one and said that they tasted totally different than hers. So, who I am assuming is the owner came to the table(same lady that sat us) an older lady with a gray bob! My husband proceeded to tell her the shrimp smelled fishy. She took his plate and sniffed and waved her hand in the air and said “oh no, they are fine, but I’ll bring you another”. My hubby said, please and then she proceeded to argue with him and say the shrimp was fine and came out of the same batch my mom got and sat his plate back down. He said please take it and make me another. She said okay. A few minutes later the actual waiter came back to the table with THE SAME PLATE OF FOOD & said I heard something was wrong. So, once again my hubby told him the problem & he to did not wanna believe what my hubby was saying. Then the lady came back over and argued some more snd finally said they would take it back and make him a new one! I have NEVER in my life have someone like an owner argue with a customer & basically say he was lying. Meanwhile everyone else has their food and my poor husband was just sitting there. We weren’t asking for anything free, just to have them remake what he had, so it didn’t smell like rotting fish. It’s such a shame because we loved eating there. When I’m back in town next, I will not be back! The owner needs to take her head outa her bum! Sometimes things go bad & it is what it is!
