This brand new Newport News location is already hit or miss. Menu items not always available and the place is never packed so you would think chow mein would be available. Not the case. Food is decent enough but sometimes lack in portions. Hopefully management will step it up and turn this 3 star into a 5 star.

I hadn’t expected my first meal in Newport News to be Asian influence, but this is worth a visit!

Today I went there on lunch & the food wasn’t fresh. Could not wait 5mints as I was on a lunch break. I get there is a rush & they run out of food. But to have nothing but the rice fresh wow!. Then she almost served me old rice… i Had to pick two selections I wasn’t fond of.

My sister and I came here to enjoy a meal in the dining area. We got there and they were out of fried rice. They told us it was a seven minute wait which turned in to a 15 min wait. Some woman who appeared to be the manager told us to sit down for the wait didn’t even allow us to pay for our food. Then when the rice finally came up, they served everyone in drive-through as well as some customers who came in after us! Absolutely ridiculous! This is a new restaurant you know fried rice is your one of your main menu items, so you should not be out of fried rice. It was very bad service all around. No one really greeted. You couldn’t tell who was working at the front. They were more concerned with drive thru then anything else. Also saw another manager who didn’t even bother asking us if we were served yet, more concerned with door dash and mobile orders who came in after us as well, making a plate with NO GLOVES!! This was my first and last time going to this Panda Express. I’ll stick to the Yorktown location.

What kind of fast food restaurant opens and still needs time to cook food? Food here is average at best. Although I do like the walnut shrimp, it is very tasty but a little soggy if it sits too long. They serve small pieces of breaded meat drowned on sauce in their orange chicken. Which make thier dish too bready for the size of chicken meat. The beef and other mixes are more veggies than meat. You’re better off going to China King up the road or another Authentic chinese restaurant. The Ala Cart boxes (Just Entrée in a box) are very pricy compared to other places.

I always have to pull forward and wait for food to be ready no matter what I order. Not sure what the issue is but should have a better plan then having customers park and wait on food constantly.

Needs major improvement. Not enough employees working in the front for the customers who decided to dine-in. Slow. I stood there for 25 minutes tonight until the girl finally took my order and by the time she did all the food was basically gone. They gave it all to the drive thru. Big waste of time and money. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Don’t even get me started on the food. The vegetables in the fried rice are raw. The orange chicken and teriyaki chicken was over cooked and severely dry.

If you want a restaurant that’s ALWAYS closed before closing hours, this is your spot!! I have grown to dislike this place specifically based upon the menu NOT honoring business hours. I came by today and Saturday with the exact same experience. You’re not closed until you’re closed!!

Whoever is cooking the food here is not cooking it enough. The veggies in the chow mein and fried rice are pretty much raw and still hard and the noodles aren’t cooked all the way. Items that need to go in the fryer need to be fried a little bit longer because some of the pieces from the walnut shrimp, orange chicken and crab rangoon I ordered always come out undercooked and a bit mushy not slightly crispy. I don’t know who’s been cooking but it seems like they’re afraid to burn stuff or something. I’ve already ordered delivery twice from this place to give it another chance but it needs major improvement.
