Had a great meal here a week ago. The fried yuca balls, empanadas and entrees were all delicious. Pictured are the yuca balls, empananads, and Arepas, which were amazing. Cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. And, it is all gluten free!!

For authentic Colombian food, from a family owned spot in Lowell, the locals all go to Panela.

What a fantastic meal! Don’t let the unassuming interior fool you…this place is serving high quality food. For drinks, we had the passionfruit margarita and the mango michelado, which were both delicious (although I preferred the margarita). For appetizer we got the plaintain balls stuffed with pork belly. Wow, this felt so much more fancy than I expected! Not too greasy at all. Then for entrees we got the arepa de yuca (waiter’s recommendation) and the bandeja paisa. Everything was delicious. The bandeja paisa was a little more of high class ingredients, and it was indeed delicious, but we were so blown away with the arepas de yuca! Mouthwateringly good, and only $14. I highly recommend this restaraunt!

I went last night for dinner and was blown away with the type of food that I received! Great selection of drinks and food choices that I understand changes seasonally. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful with menu options. Can not wait to go back! Check out the cucumber and mango salad!

I have more than 20 years in the restaurant industry and this place is a must try. I almost missed it because from the outside it dosnt look like much. But the reviews brought me back. First the bartender I met was so kind and passionate about the place I thought she was an owner. Truly she just loves her job. The food was so amazing. The ribs were a 10/10 and yesterday, at a different restaurant, I sent back ketchup! so I don’t give out 10’s lightly. Inside it’s a very humble place feeling more like a sandwich show then a high end restaurant, but the food they are serving is better then what your getting at many Michelin restaurants, believe me I know from experience. Give them a try you won’t regret it.

Panela Restaurant is a little jewel in Lowell! I went there for a quick lunch but was I was so impress that I decided it would be the perfect place to host a surprise party for a friend with about 20 people. They reserved the area behind the bar for us and we were able to bring balloons and table decor… the food was excellent and everybody enjoy it, the drinks were also delicious. We timed our party to start some time before their music starts (that day was scheduled for karaoke) so we can were able to enjoy some fun after eating too. A special shout out to DJ Andres and the Waitress Sara that did a fabulous job working directly with us.. a big thank you to all staff, the kitchen for the delicious food and the bartenders too for all the good cocktails. I’d highly recommend this so cute and fun place. Can’t wait to return soon! Thanks for being so wonderful for my friends birthday party! Everyone loved
