Panoy Bistro is a great family owned gem in Grass Valley. My wife and I love Thai/Lao food and decided to give them a try for dinner while in the area which was no disappointment. Everything we ordered was delicious. (drunken noodles, Thai tea, pineapple fried rice, fresh rolls, his and hers papaya salad one spicy one mild, paneng curry, Lao beer, Lao garlic noodles with prawns) I love the patio garden area although it was a bit hot outside at the time so we sat inside. We enjoyed taking time to start conversations with staff to learn about the people serving us. It was such great experience we made it a point to stop in for lunch the next day before leaving town.

Great food. And very, very, poor customer service, from the young waitress. Left a zero tip. Never coming here again. Talked with two ladies, in the parking lot. They were very disappointed in the customer service as well. The waitress needs to be replaced, with someone, with a smile. Not a negative attitude. You lost four customer’s yesterday. Make a change!

I am beyond picky about my food. Sometimes healthy food has no flavor and especially for us vegans. This place was amazing. Really great food and I love the decor. Ate in the outside patio. I’m here from out of town for work so it was nice obviously my first time trying this place through a recommendation from a work colleague. Wish they had this restaurant in my hometown. While I’m here I will be back!

Authentic and delicious! I had never eaten Lao food before and it does not disappoint! So flavorful! If you like Thai food, it’s similar but has some unique twists. One of my husband and I’s fave spots in town. Order the fried spring rolls & the ginger curry! Love the interior design and the outdoor patio is super lovely for warm summer nights.

My husband and I went to eat here for the first time last Friday evening. I’ve been looking forward to checking this place out since we moved to the area. While the younger woman at the cashier desk who took our order and rang us up is not going to win any congeniality awards anytime soon, the food and atmosphere were good. They make you pay up front when you order and then will bring the order to your table. I didn’t see any wine on the menu…just Beerlao, which is a decent beer, esp for a Laotian restaurant. Ample seating inside and out. They have umbrellas for shade. Overall, good food (albeit a bit overpriced), and unfriendly service.

Great place to dine! Huge menu, great serevice with a smile, and the cuisine is delightful! The greatest facet may be the people you run into at this restaurant? Just the idea of one extra beer brought us Andrew….the ultimate lumberjack from Oregon making his relocation to Nevada City. GREAT! We need more amazing people to to balance out all the lying real estate brokers in the area.

Little family ran, tucked away gem no one really knows about. Which is a dayum shame because the food is OUT of this WORLD!! The drunken noodles are F***ING ADDICTING!! I get the mild heat Noodles (Because I’m a vah-jayjay ) I can honestly say I haven’t found one negative thing about the food, owners or atmosphere! The DINING AREA is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! What a lovely family business they have made and the Atmosphere is out of this world! You can feel the love & positivity the instant you pull in the driveway & see the front patio/outside dining area lit up with the loveliest of tea-lights! Wonderful environment, good vibes and AMAZING food! You want quality, fresh organic clean tasting food??.. THIS PLACE IS IT! WE LOVE IT HERE!
