A great place to stop at, the food was great and I think very price comparable. My servers name was Brookelyn and she was on top of her game. There is a welcoming feeling to this place that puts you at ease. I wear a kilt and I didn’t get any of the strange looks I sometimes get in other establishments I’ve visited. I would recommend this for some good eats and awesome service.

Good family style place and meal. We had Fish and Chips and a senior Turkey on Texas toast with potatoes and gravy. Oh, and a cinnamon roll (which was $10. but huge and nearly 2 Ibs. Took three days for two of us to finish it) which I had taken home.

Papa Bear’s West is an elevated roadside restaurant that’s just off Interstate 5, between Seattle and Portland, and if you’re hungry for a fabulous, indulgent breakfast—as we were this morning—you’ll love the eggs Benedict (I had mine with crabmeat instead of Canadian bacon); the chicken and waffles (the husband’s choice); or one of the many other freshly-made treats. We loved the truffle-Parmesan fries, which arrived piping hot and topped with Parmesan shavings. Our only regret is that we were too full for dessert, but I’m including a pic of the impressive array of fresh pies offered at Papa Bear’s, and I fully plan on taking a whole coconut cream pie home with us when we’re back out here in the near future. (And whichever of us is not driving will definitely be having a spicy Bloody Mary.)

Disappointing. I ordered New York strip, medium. It came out well done. For sides I first chose the Mac and cheese, which came out cold and reminded me of something you’d find in a frozen dinner that hadn’t been microwaved long enough. Second side was a baked potato, and I paid extra to have it “loaded.” The potato was tiny, and the amount of toppings it took to cover it did not justify an up-charge, in my opinion. My husband ordered the pot roast, which DEFINITELY was not cooked in the restaurant from scratch. No way. It was exactly like a frozen dinner that someone slapped on a plate. I’d be willing to bet most of the items on the menu are pre-made and reheated, based on the quality of what we received.

I gave way too many chances trying to give them a chance. Their food really is horrible!!!! Every time! This time ordered steamed clams, zero seasoning or cooked in sauce just completely dry. Not even a hint of salt, over cooked and the so called butter to dip it in was, I kid you not, tasted just like popcorn oil. I’m 100% sure that was it. Just a rubbery clam with a hint of unsalted popcorn fake butter oil taste. They gave me a refund for it. The pork chops were lacking flavor, salt. Also I don’t think was cooked enough. Kids grilled cheese was tasteless along with their Mac n cheese. Salmon was good but really small piece, rice was gross, oinon rings had a chemical after taste! Not sure how this place is still in business other than the unlucky travelers passing through making a horrible decision by stopping there.

My husband ordered the prime rib and it was raw. I ordered the captain’s platter and everything was so burnt that it wasn’t edible. And my son had something on the bottom of his placemat that did not come from any of our food and I don’t know what it was but I added a picture of it.

My husband and I drive by this place all the time on our way to Grandma’s house. Stopped in for lunch last weekend. Best. Decision. Ever. The person who seated us was super friendly, answered any questions we had (I have an allergy) and gave us a few minutes to decide. She came back in a few minutes and took our orders. We had the jalapeno poppers as an appetizer and they were amazing. I’ve never had a breading so perfect before. I ordered the brisket sandwich with smoked macaroni and cheese and my husband ordered a burger with onion rings. I will definitely order here again and would even drive out of my way for it. It was about $50 with a tip for our lunch, we binged a little with the poppers.

Went here after a long road trip, all of the servers where very friendly and very accommodating. At first the prices seemed a bit much, but as soon as we got our food it became clear that the quality of the food is worth it. Absolutely recommend the pot roast and chowder, easily the best parts of the meal.

What a wonderful hidden gem! We absolutely loved this place, right off of I-5 and plenty of parking (even for a boat too!) And the food was phenomenal. I had the beast burger and my fiancee had the three little pigs sandwich. Both were absolutely DELICIOUS. The wait staff were all very friendly and checked up on us just enough. Overall an amazing experience, and we’ll definitely be back here the next time we’re in the area!
