We were told this might be the best burger place in Michigan and they also have hand dipped malts. That was a great suggestion! Place was jumping with Sunday regulars and they were very apologetic. Once we ordered, everything came out promptly. The burgers were fantastic and came with fresh cut fries that were just the strong side of crispy – awesome. Chocolate malt was HUGE! We split it between ourselves and enjoyed every sip!

We have had our car club cruise to Papa J’s a couple times. The food (we do the pizza buffet with salad bar) is always great and plentiful, the staff friendly and helpful. And the ice cream yummy.

Amazing all you can eat breakfast buffet on Sundays. Everything was fresh! The eggs Benedict is amazing! Coffee is always hot and fresh, never an empty cup.

Good old traditional American diner. The food is good and in good portions. We took papa pizza and garlic knots. The garlic knots were very soft and fluffy. Liked their marinara sauce. The servers were friendly and welcoming. It has a retro look to it from inside.

Love this place! I live right down the road. The crispy chicken strips in a basket or sandwich is excellent. Gyros, fish and chips, biscuits and gravy all really good. Haven’t tried the pizza yet, that’s next. Service is excellent, the waitstaff are cool. Please eat here, it’s very good.

The place was not all that busy, I felt ignored but that is not reasonable thinking I’d say understaffed is most likely the answer, wate staff is very nice. It took 10 min just to get a drink and menu, ok well that can happen but if not being critical service is often prompt and delightful at Papa J’s. The restaurant is really neatly decorated like a retro modern 1950″s dinner interesting to look at all the Kool paintings and things people looking all around tv on although watching sealions give birth on the Discovery Channel is not the best dinning entertainment. I ordered biscuits and gray 3 eggs hash browns and bacon. At 9:49 arrived at 10:21 so approximately 30 min the table that arrived 10 min after my arrival was served first well ok what can you do but twiddle your thumbs I have found reacting to such things is fruitless Nothing good ever happens with negative confrontational aggressive behavior. The food looks ok. Hash browns raw inside. Biscuits and grave are extremely good light Biscuits and the gravy is tasty and light and creamy great combo, eggs over easy nice jod there and bacon crisp 5 peaces ok, all in all food is good would be great but undercooked hash brown got Papa J’s a good instead of exclent grade restaurant is nice wate staff is under staffed price high. I Would I come back yes I think on a different day an excellent grad wold be accomplished, Enjoy

I grew up around Benzie County and have been to Papa J’s multiple times. I’m in town visiting family and we decided to come eat. It was busy for a holiday week but no too busy. There were a limited number of servers it seemed like but still enough to cover the room. I feel like our waitress took a little long to get around to us and didn’t check in to see how things were going. When our food came out, my burger came out steaming hot, but my fries were almost cold and the fried mushrooms I ordered, that I asked to come before my meal, got delivered with my meal and were almost cold as well. So it’s a 4 star day for me, but doesn’t deter me from giving them a go the next time I’m in town visiting.

Don’t try to order anything within the last hour of closing. They will claim the order didn’t come to the Honor location even though the girl answered the phone “Papa J’s, Honor, Michigan”. When I tried to call to see what was going on since my son was sitting there waiting (still before closing time), they then wouldn’t answer the phone. So, I cannot comment on the food and the service is rotten. Take your money somewhere else.
