Halal Mexican food with an Arizona flair. The food here is incredible; everything is fresh and packed with flavor. Every item I’ve tried here so far (I’ve tried a good amount already and can’t wait to try more) has been so distinct and so delicious. The owners are very kind and the staff here are attentive, caring, and overall just lovely. I can’t recommend this place enough. (As I write this, I’m craving the Sonoran hot dog. Try it. Try everything.)

We were so excited when we learned about this new halal Mexican restaurant and made the long drive from the Laveen area to try it for my birthday. We ordered the carne asada tacos plate, 3 shredded beef hard tacos and the Tampiqueña plate and an horchata drink. When we arrived there was no one at the front or the register so we did wait for a minute for the lady to come from the back of the kitchen area. I asked if the horchata was sweet or not too sweet, as I don’t like very sweet horchata, and she said regular which I assumed not very sweet. I was wrong, it was super sweet that I even watered it down so y husband could drink it. Sadly none of what we ordered was good. My carne asada tacos were lacking in flavor & salt, my wedge of lemon I was given was dry and didn’t look fresh at all, the Spanish rice seemed to be made using Uncle Ben’s parboiled rice, the refried beans were mediocre (I’ve tasted better from a can) and the shredded beef in my hard tacos had a weird flavor that I couldn’t make out but was equally as off-putting as getting a biteful of nerve tendons that was in my taco. My husband’s carne asada was dry and difficult to cut with the knife they provided and the tiny serving of what was supposed to be the cheese enchilada was room temperature and not appealing at all. The portions were small for the price but this time we were glad they were because my husband has to eat what I couldn’t. After spending almost $50 we are left sadly disappointed, dissatisfied and wait until there are more than 9 reviews about a new restaurant that has opened up. Now, if you’ve never tasted real Mexican food (I was born & raised on it) then you might enjoy the menu offerings here, especially since there isn’t much halal Mexican restaurants here. Otherwise, I suggest that you eat somewhere else. Sorry Papa Loco’s! We really wanted to love you, but just can’t.

My family and I really enjoyed our food. We ordered the super burrito, 3 taco barrira and single burger. We are so happy that this restaurant is Halal! This place should be packed with people. We need more Halal restaurants like this place. Thank you

Delicious Halal Mexican food. Their service is quick, and the food is authentic. Had their birria tacos, fajita burrito and enchilada. Everything was tasty. Service is friendly and quick.

Not bad. The burrito was very good, the beef was cubed and it was actually very good. This was a carne asada burrito enchilada style with red sauce and it turned out very well. The beans and rice was very good.

I brought my Afghan family to this restaurant and they were skeptical that was really Halal meat. The owner was very willing to tell his story and why Halal meat was important to him. We shared 3 orders. The red and green sauced beef Chimichanga was off the charts amazing! The beef burrito was great! The chicken tacos were okay, nothing special until we used the leftover Chimichanga sauce! Wow!

I don’t think this is real meat. Ordered a green chili burro, menu stated beef. How do you mess that up?? Little clumps of “beef,” almost like course ground beef, but very chewy and with a little crunch like fat or gristle, with a lot of “cheese” and some kind of sauce with a twang like vinegar. Inedible. Took two bites and threw it out. “Halal” Mexican food; isn’t that an oxymoron? It was a bit odd to walk in to a Mexican food restaurant and they’re playing Muslim religious music (which is fine, I find it interesting). But there was no indication whatsoever, other than the name change and paint job, that this is now “halal” food, and that the previous Mexican food place was gone but the recipes are gone too. Won’t be coming back.

The restaurant has authentic Mexican food. I personally don’t know much about the cuisine, but the staff was kind enough to help me understand and decide what to eat.
