Take a 10-minute trip north of Sioux Falls to a delightful little town called Dell Rapids and you will find one of the best family-owned artisan restaurants in the area. I have known the owner personally for over 25 years and watched his career as a chef. He is now running his own restaurant which is a tribute to his dad and includes all of the secret family recipes. Great food! No, outstanding food! Great Bistro atmosphere. Great service! All that for a reasonable price. Take an afternoon and come visit this excellent little restaurant right on main Street in Dell Rapids. Highly recommend!

Made the drive from Sioux Falls for lunch, and it was so worth it! Loved my BLT on parmesan crusted bread and home fries, and hubby loved his patty melt and tomato soup (so flavorful). Our friends so enjoyed their chislic and chicken ceasar wrap, too (sorry, no pictures). Topped it off with warm brownies and ice cream and cheesecake with raspberry sauce, so yummy! Thank you to the very talented chefs and excellent server, don’t pass Papa’s up!

We heard about this restaurant from a friend of ours in Sioux Falls, so decided to try it out. It was excellent! The caprese salad for an app was fresh and tasty. My husband ate the ribeye which was juicy, tender, and covered with their signature sauces (at his request). I ate the beef bourgignon, and it was amazing! Everything about it was flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Josh was our server, and he was very helpful and kind. The place is as cute as can be! All in all, a great night out!

Food was very good and so was service. I got a garden salad with shrimp added and my salad was huge, fresh and had good variety of greens and veggies. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food and would go back again. I thought it was a very good value for the money also, as I had an appetizer, two drinks, my salad and a dessert, all for about $30 plus tip. The atmosphere is nice and classic. They had live music the night we went, which was very fun.

Fresh, high quality, homemade food at an extremely reasonable price served in a gorgeous setting. At Papa’s, all of the food is made from scratch, yielding exceptional results. They have HANDS DOWN the best burger I’ve ever had in South Dakota. The servers are outstanding, as well. Papa’s is such a unique gem! It is well worth the trip up from Sioux Falls.

Excellent atmosphere and friendly/helpful /experienced service. Charles was very knowledgeable and professional. He always had our water glasses full and was extremely helpful with selections. Nice variety of menu options available and everyone at the table seemed pleased with their meals. It did seem a bit cold in the restaurant but it is February. Highly recommended!
